Numerous complaints have been getting made about account registrations closing. They appear to start at around 3 months back. Below is a very rough timeline:
I hadn't heard Voat was invite-only for so long until about a day or two ago. From Voats's submissions it appears that this has been an ongoing issue since around 3/18/19. If anyone could help clarify the dates, or provide an explanation as to how accounts have been created since, I'd greatly appreciate it.
If Voat were really invite-only since around 3/18/19 I don't get how accounts could have been created since then...
Why officially is there so much silence?
Until a clear answer is given, I'd treat all accounts created after 3/18/19 with suspicion.

Yeah, I also see plenty of 27-30 day old accounts. The lack of communication is the biggest known issue as far as I'm concerned.

Why not just let it be open? Sure there will be trolls creating alts and spammers creating accounts, but those problems were never insurmountable, mostly they were just an annoyance.
