Ironically, though I do NOT live in CA anymore, I received a text notification regarding the impending PG-E blackouts there due to my area code in my phone number.

I also received notifications from my ISP (in MO) that my internet would be going out the next two days as well...?

OK I looked into it. Jade Helm was a huge military training exercise which was unusual because it took place all across the southwest and was on private land. It involved mostly army special forces.
