@ponyfriend @carmencita @SterlingJB @risewithoutfear @JackBlack1

Users are being pinged for commenting in @Oh_Well_ian's Obama picture debunking (or being pinged by OWi). Please see OP - it is information you should probably be aware of.

Oh, I am well aware. At this point I have decided I have had enough of this. This seems to be turning into a slamming of OWI instead of finding the truth about the picture. I am wondering if this picture is being pushed to discredit us, if it IS shopped and we decide it is real. This is turning into a Witch Hunt and I don't want to be a part of it. Before this becomes a Hair On Fire situation it needs to be Doused.

That's exactly what it is. Did you read Part 2? If not, you should. At least the edit at the end.

I didn't post this to prove the picture one way or the other, I posted this to show OWi to be lying, at the very least.

A witch hunt? Read my words and come to your conclusion. I'm not hunting anything but lies and deceptions. I STILL can't comment on the image, but I CAN ask OWi to prove he's not lying by walking us through how he finds out if something is shopped or not.

His posts were textbook COINTEL. If you want to ignore this kind of thing, that's fine, but disinfo shills exist, and ignoring them isn't doing anyone any favors.

I am not going to be branded as someone that is OK with shills. Each post has been about OWI and not just the photo. I am no longer in this am in the middle of researching.

Yes. OWi. Who is likely a disinfo shill that your fellow users are likely to accept as legitimate if users like you don't call him out.

On only one subject I was able to show him completely and utterly wrong at every level, and since this is the first time I can recall that I've even paid attention to him as a user, that's really saying something.

Since you seem intent on pretending not to care, I'll tell you what it's saying:

It's saying that he likely does this far more often, on many other subjects.

I am not going to be branded as someone that is OK with shills.

Then don't act like it. Part of research is ruthlessly cutting off leads and information that is bad or false, and those that provide it.

Not just discrediting the PG researchers, I think this would bring many other pictures into question and create doubt, regarding the authenticity of those pictures. And when that doubt is rooted, you might be spending more of your time looking into the past research and not moving forward.

Exactly. We have shills on here all the time posting things to distract us from a very important post. Then these pics as you say will be popping up all the time. No this must be cut off now. It has gone on long enough. We all know it is true, we don't need another picture to verify it.

Actually deleted my comment there. Not because I disagree with OWi, which is interesting (seems like the same pic used in infographic to show what obama would like with mask is the same pic that was used for original images), but the controversy over it is weird so I'm bowing out.

Please check at least the edit in part 2. OWi is invited to show his work and prove his claim of being a photoshop expert.

I read it. Still think feel the same about the photo but cld be wrong. Defs kinda weird how hard OWi's pushing this (and everyone really on all sides; seems inconsequential even if true but cld be wrong on that too). +1 tho for the correct usage of "begging the question". Hardly ever see the original meaning of this phrase.
