Alice Waters restaurant is the historical "anchor" of a cultural/food center in on Berkeley's main street (next to University of Berkeley campus) dubbed "Gourmet Ghetto" by a Jewish writer presumably because the shop-owners were all Jews as shown in the Wikipedia article. Obviously the University of Berkeley is famous for being the new home of the 100%-Jewish Frankfurt School after the Nazis threw them out.
