"A former hedge fund boss is considering legal action after being “wrongly sectioned” in a maximum-security psychiatric ward.

Aaron Dover, 39, claims he was detained against his will for 10 days, physically restrained and forcibly injected with sedatives at Highgate Mental Health Centre.

Mr Dover, of Hampstead, was held after his wife became concerned for his well-being and called the NHS 111 out-of-hours number. Authorities feared he might be suicidal and the Metropolitan Police launched a helicopter search. He was having a coffee nearby.

He admitted being under pressure due to an employment dispute and said he had at times suffered from depression, but claimed the response was completely over the top: “I was brought into hospital by a manhunt of more than 10 police cars, police with dogs trawling Hampstead Heath, and a police helicopter, while I was out quietly having a coffee on Flask Walk.

“I was hunted down like a nuclear suicide bomber rather than someone out for Sunday breakfast.

“I was held against my will with patients who were terrifying. Some of them were quite aggressive and there were frequent fights. It’s basically the Hannibal Lecter ward of Highgate.

“I wanted to leave every second of every minute. I never wanted to set foot in that place and the whole thing was just an atrociously awful nightmare.”

After being detained last September, the IT consultant was taken to Highgate Mental Health Centre, where doctors suspected he had a delusional disorder. He was later sectioned.

He admits he was under intense stress but believes his sectioning was based on hearsay and not enough was done to verify his account of events.

On October 2, following a five-hour hearing, a tribunal found that it was “not satisfied that he was suffering from a mental disorder”. Mr Dover was freed immediately with no further treatment required.

He is considering legal action against Camden and Islington NHS foundation trust over unlawful detention, medical negligence and personal injury. Solicitor José Grayson of D H Law, who represented Mr Dover at the tribunal, said: “The hospital had simply failed to properly investigate what Aaron was saying. It is now some months since his discharge. If they were right about the fact that he had a serious psychotic illness then he would be back in hospital.”

A spokesman for Highgate Mental Health Centre, which is run by Camden and Islington Trust, said: “The tribunal makes a decision on whether further detention is warranted based on the assessment to date, and their own interviews.

“The decision that no further detention is needed does not make the original detention for assessment wrong or illegal.”

The FCA, for the Americans among us, is the UK's official financial services regulator. All financial firms looking to undertake the provision of financial services need to be authorised by the FCA (Formerly the FSA). Individuals, and more specifically senior management individuals are separately and personally registered as well depending on the type of position and responsibilities held at the firm.

At first glance, the names mentioned in his witness statement match up to the names of the current registered principles of LMR Partners. All of which can be found on the LMR registration page by scrolling down and expanding on the tab that says "INDIVIDUALS" - this will expand the list of controlled function holders currently holding positions at the firm and are currently active. If you click on an individual you will see his specific controlled function as well as his employment history at other firms holding controlled functions. You will note once you've done this that the principles mainly come from UBS, Morgan Stanley and Goldman Sachs amongst others presumably.. i haven't checked them all.

So, to be clear, one Aaron George Maurice Dover definitely worked for LMR Partners in 2011 as a Partner of the firm which absolutely still exists and is doing business headed by senior management names consistent with the names mentioned in OP's referenced witness statement.

Whether OP is indeed the actual Aaron Dover, and whether the referenced witness statement is in fact a copy of the original court documents is another matter I will refrain from opining on here.

Notwithstanding the above, the link to the pizzagate investigation remains to be determined (I have not read the entire witness statement, but intend to), however I will say that I am most certainly interested in this case and would like to learn more and help if I can.

Rather than distracting ad-hominem attacks, I prefer going the debunking route. So far I'm falling short. Now let's clear up the main claim of serious flat earthers: The earth is not a spinning ball. That's it.

There is no claim that there is a dome, or that they understand how moon phases work, or that there is an edge, or that they understand why things that go up fall down. They just choose to go ahead with Archimedes' explanation. After all gravity as we know it in Newtonian mechanics applied to phenomena on earth is just a proportionality constant that is equally explained by relative density/buoyancy.

Now, just go and see UN map logo. It is the standard Gleason flat map. You dont need the earth to be a globe to circumnavigate. Just follow the compass that always keeps pointing to the magnetic center of the flat earth map (which is the north pole) and 'you will go around in circles'. You dont fall of the edge because the claim is that Antarctica is an ice wall surrounding the earth.

Let's look at some main observations that seriously need to be answered by people choosing to attack Flat earth:

1) The earth is a globe: This statement implies that curvature should be detected by people on earth. How do you explain the multiple observations of people seeing skylines and islands greater than 40 miles away using zoom lenses when earth curvature dictates that it should have disappeared below the horizon? What about high altitude balloon footage without fish eye lenses that show an absolute flat horizon? 2) The earth is spinning: Aircrafts use directional gyros to determine their heading. In short, mechanical gyros tend to hold their orientation in space independent of earth position, gravity etc. Therefore if the base of the gyro mount is rotated, the reading should indicate how much rotation has occured. In this video, the person used a commercial directional gyro used by aircrafts and placed it on flat table in a location in the northern hemisphere (53 deg latitude) and waited for a sufficient period of time to see if the earth rotation was registered. He basically did not observe anything. This means that the base of the gyro does not rotate. Which logically implies that the table did not rotate along with the earth. How is that possible?
