So anyone presently trying to use or continue to use classification to hide alleged unethical and or illegal behaviors would be expose anyway. But with future forced declassification you do NOT get the present benefits listed above :( Also on the long term, history usually does NOT remember kindly people with unethical and or illegal behaviors. While at the same time, history remembers strong and courageous present behaviors.

If the police were on scene, a bystander would not pull his weapon. Let the police do their job. But if a shooter walks into our church and opens fire, I plan to pull my piece and deal with the threat. After the attacker is neutralized, I will personally call the police and report a self defense shooting. You make a good point - armed citizens should allow police to do their jobs.
