Introduction:
Most of us have been bothered to see what has been happening on Voat for the past few weeks. @Crensch, whom many of us used to hold in high regard, started applying a ban hammer left and right to users that mocked srayzie's departure, as he was left as owner of the subverse v/GreatAwakening.
In his actions he, proceeded to delete those "offensive" comments with a really unclear justification: "Other" motivated by a misrepresentation of our admin's post We are the wild west. "Since we are the wild west I am shooting who I want and how I want" (paraphrasing).
In the past I have defended users against false accusations and have tried to remain as objective as I could in order to address the accusations in the best way possible. I have never acted on the back of anyone and have posted many times my dislike of the use of alts here at Voat. I say this because Crensch and his supporters have tried to attack my persona of telling me dishonest and not transparent when in fact I never purge my content nor comments and they can use the SearchVoat feature to try to dig something on me. One even implied that I had or was an alt. As I have told to previous slanderers of such things: El que nada debe, nada teme. Which translates to The one that owes nothing, fears nothing.
Any user has a right to appeal an unjustified ban.
Even if I never defended the attacks on srayzie in the past I could not let the false narrative that was taking place to continue regarding the ban that was made to u/Trigglypuff. As the user never engaged in doxxing when making her mockery posts with srayzie's pictures. Srayzie alone made the link to her personal social media and I pleaded with her to set the record straight. However she refused so I was forced to do so. Reason why I made this post:
And as the edit on that post showed, I decided to handle the rest of the matter privately in a chane of pms between Puttitout, Cynabuns, PeaceSeeker, MadWorld, kevdude, Srayzie and Crensch* in order to get the unjust ban removed.
At the same time dealing with that I defended u/Obrez with due diligence when he asked for my help when he was banned for an unjust reason also. I am sure, as I had defended him before he can vouch for my objectivity and commitment to get situations like this resolved in the best way possible, as several other users can. This is important to note because as Crensch and his supporters like to paint me of dishonest and not transparent, then this argues against their character attacks and baseless claims to my persona.
I even tried to dialogue with them:
However, Crensch kept the false narrative that srayzie was doxxed, as u/Molochhunter still does, so I made two posts one on v/GA and one on v/PV regarding the matter. The one on v/PV was to ensure that in case Crensch continued with his power moderation and banned me without cause and remove the post I did in v/GA there would be a back up of it:
Moments later after doing the posts and engaging with some of the users. Crensch proceeded with the ban hammer on my account:
Last night I created a post on his v/GreatAwakeningMeta subverse and placed a respectful request for my ban to be reversed as it was unjustified and had no previous warning of the rule I broked. Another motivation was that he had dismissed u/PeaceSeeker as being a contributor to the v/GreatAwakening sub due to his comment history:
My request was ignored and promptly downvoted by him and his supporters. They are unable to argue against my objectivity, they are unable to argue against the unjust ban yet they maintain it because I disagree with their false premises and because I don't agree with the comment deletion they have engaged on.
Conclusion
u/Crensch called himself a typhoon before me when stating that I was going to stand between his selfish endeavour and Voat. I dedicate this post to you: And the typhoon thought that he was wrecking his enemies...
You have corrupted your ways and your supporters have done so too by backing up your actions as justifiable. You have avoided to engage on dialogue and became dismissive and even more arrogant than before. And as I held you in high regard in the past it pains me to say that right now, even when you care not, you have certainly disappointed me as your supporters have.
I am letting you know that I also placed a formal request with the site's admin to reach out to you and help you get back in the horse and comeback to your senses.
If my ban was unjustified, that is enough evidence for reviewing the rest of the bans you have engaged on and the comment deletions you have done also. You have taken this approach as a way to shut down criticism and dissent, not in the best interest of v/GreatAwakening but because of your own pride.

When it finally happens to others they will start to agree with you. Until then enjoy fighting against people who just don’t care and alts of Team Srayzie who will make it sound like you are the one who is the problem.

I'd love to know what the hell happened to my original Smifft account. The Reddit faggots quarantined T_D and I came back to Boat to see how shots shaking out on this side of the tracks and my goddamn account got nuked. Could it have been lost when u/putitout was making big backend upgrades?

BREAKING NEWS - CRENCHI LEAKS

Whine like a bitch much?
Rotteuxx ago
Don't you care for the platform or do you just want to enjoy the free ride while it lasts like a nigger ?
When there's a tumor, you deal with it. Ignoring it will only allow it to grow.
Broc_Lia ago
Make a new sub, encourage users to migrate. If they're mostly on your side then GA will die and your new sub will take over. If not, then you have no business whining about him.
I have no beef in this, I don't use any Q subs, but that's how the system works, use it.
sguevar ago
Not interested in destroying what that community has worked so hard to get. I am interested that the Freedom of Speech is not trumped by a dictatorial overreach of the mod team.
And from this point this is what I am trying to show. He is trying to shutdown dissent instead of showing the users of his sub how to correctly deal with people that antagonize their movement.
I get your point but this definitely needs to be address. I don't want their sub to die, I want it to be managed correctly.
Broc_Lia ago
What would be destroyed if the community moved to a new sub?
sguevar ago
The sub in itself.
You stated it "GreatAwakening woud die". Not interested on that. This is my point.
Broc_Lia ago
If the community persists, who cares which URL they're posting at.
sguevar ago
Well maybe you can look my approach differently. To defend the v/GreatAwakening community from power moderation. It may be futile but to my eyes still needed.
Broc_Lia ago
Unless crensch voluntarily steps down then you don't have a lot of other options.
sguevar ago
I hear you but I still have an informative duty to uphold.
Broc_Lia ago
Information on it's own is useless. If you're serious about the sub being ruined then start another one. If you're not willing to do that then there's really no point in your OP.
Rotteuxx ago
It's a lot more than that.
@Crensch has revealed himself as a censorious, ban happy power mod who must control the narrative. Ignoring his behavior is condoning it, he now goes against the main philosophy of the platform.
If you see a growth on your body but it doesn't hurt or isn't in the way of anything at the moment, would you ignore it until it's too late and it becomes a serious medical problem ?
I wouldn't give an inch to power tripping mods on this platform, not giving a shit because it doesn't affect you directly is how rEddit went downhill.
Broc_Lia ago
So don't ignore it. Migrate.
Not really analagous given that crensch has now power unless you use his sub.
Reddit had power tripping admins, not just mods. If that hadn't been the case there wouldn't have been a serious problem.
Rotteuxx ago
I ain't a Qtard & besides, migrating would be a way of ignoring it.
Setting precedent for selective censorship in big subs is the main issue that can have repercussions on the whole platform. It's starts with babysteps and grows... It's a bigger issue than a sub simply enforing its rules, it's outright emotional bannings and comment deletions.
Not convinced by this argument tbh, mods by themselves can turn a platform to shit & delegitimize it.
Broc_Lia ago
How is removing his userbase ignoring it?

At least I ain't a pussy who doesn't ping people when I talk about them.

Nah, he's a good goat. I just think he's wrong.

I've taken a liking to the block feature in Voat. I find that my feeds are much easier for me to consume. I suggest that other users simply block subverses and users to cut down on indigestible fodder.
Block feature works like this for users: You see the username, but the comments start as collapsed. Blocked subverses never end up in your feed. This allows users to 1) decide whether or not they want to waste time consuming already probable indigestible content, 2) Quickly scan comments for digestible material. Probably some other benefits too.
Instructions to block: Click on the user, go to the menu button on the left (it looks like 3 bars), scroll down, then click the "block" button. Next time you see the user in the feed, they should be collapsed to start (unless it's a post they made in a subverse you do not have blocked). Works the same for subverses. This is reversible if you want to give the user~subverse another go.
I don't know all the browsers this works in, but it works in Waterfox 56.x. Eat from greener pastures, fellow Goats!
sguevar ago
I am sorry I didn't address this before on another comment you made.
I agree. The block feature should be improved.
sinclair ago
I don't think it should be improved, I think it should be suggested more by mods as a means of dealing with fodder. Empower others, ya know? Help users be responsible for the content they consume, rather than having them runn to mommy mod, every time someone shitposts something they don't like. It's for some people. I don't mind that users start collapsed. It lets me know the feature is working as intended; it also lets me choose to read or not. Sometimes, they say something relevant, sometimes even funny. The ones I block have a 75% rate of irrelevant shitpost. It's user empowering.
IRL, i always wish I had a mute button for people in the room I don't want to hear right off, cause there's a high probability of their first response annoying me. I like the block feature the way it is. It works great!
sguevar ago
The thing is that right now is rather incomplete.
As if you are subscribed to the same subverse the same person you have blocked, you will still see their content and comments. Maybe not receive the ping or notification but they can still see it.
This is why I would say that it needs to be improved.
But I agree with you on all that you say here. I don't tend to block. There are really just a few I have blocked. But because they were bordering exhaustive.
heygeorge ago
You will not see their comments.
sguevar ago
I will have to take both of your word for it. Don't block to know.
sinclair ago
I don't experience this, as I don't have subscriptions. People are complex, even shitposters can bring good content when they submit articles and info-graphics, so I don't mind seeing that in my feed if they are blocked, and the subverse isn't. Block still works on their comments though, and at least for me, that's plenty.

This is what happens when an autist gets his heart broken by his ’SmokeShadow’, fucking cringe. All because his ’SmokeShadow’ was a fucking cunt who rage quit when Voat wouldnt bend over for her.
@Crensch cucked for some saggy flabby jew tits. Thats literally all it took to destroy PV.
Do you think hes gonna stop now because you are being reasonable?? Na, like an autist hes gonna obsess over it for years. @Crensch got killed by a psyop, he just doesnt realise hes dead yet.
