I'll wager Acosta and press pool did the laser pointer dots as a mean practical joke. They probably mounted cameras with laser pointers to intimidate and threaten him. It would be consistent with the crosshair photo as well.

And it would explain why he left the press pool behind.

When I first heard POTUS was going to Argentina I had a similar response. I prayed for him and that USSS would be hyper-vigilant and all would be kept safe. As in France I just ask POTUS to defer to those who protect him. They know the stakes are high and travel is sometimes necessary but POTUS is crucial and mtgs. can often be re-arranged. Safety for POTUS is their job. If we pray and agree and have faith the USSS will do their jobs we have nothing to fear but fear itself. POTUS is not afraid to defer to USSS, he's already proven that.
