Hi Q-refugees, you may notice that you'll be getting a lot of pushback from voat users in the next couple of days. That's because it's a different culture here, one that you're probably not used to. Culture shock is normal, so here's a few pointers.

  1. Free speech can be ugly, and you're going to have to get used to it. Someone once said that the ability to call people "Niggerfaggots" on this site acts as a canary in the coal mine: as long as people aren't getting banned, that's how you know you can truly say anything. Be prepared to be called names you didn't expect on this site: it's a right of passage, and you can always ignore/block users or subs if it's too much.

  2. Don't cheat the system. You need 100 CCP to post, 10 to downvote (I think), and ban logs are visible to the public. QRV will NOT get you these points, as it's an anon sub. That means, you'll have to interact with rest of the site for these privileges: hence, why I listed point one. If your mods are ban-happy, we'll be able to see it and we'll probably mock them/point it out. So just actually contribute to the site: it won't take too long, and we'll probably mass-downvoat you if we see you begging.

  3. Freedom is costly. Literally. There's a ton of you, and voat's had some issues with server load before.

  4. If all you want to do is post and read about Q, just do your basic homework (with okay contributions it should honestly take a day or less to earn enough CCP) and go back into your subs. We'll mostly leave you alone, although sometimes we'll mock you. Want an example? People mostly ignore FatPeopleHate and they just do their own thing.

BO of /QResearch/ here. Thank you for hosting us, and fuck you too, nigger. I greatly appreciate this thread. I am new to Voat, and it seems to be a lot better than Reddit already from what I'm seeing. I am still learning the ropes here as I am an 8chan native, so this whole CCP/points system goes way over my head. I don't want to steal users from already existing subverses. I know that a lot of people have already established their own home bases so if you want to stick with those subverses, it really makes no difference to me as I hope we are all working towards the same goal. I am willing to listen to any tips/advice anyone has and I will be checking my inbox as often as time allows me to. I don't want to cheat the system here and I don't mean to intrude on already existing subverses, but I would like to keep the sense of anonymity that we have on /QResearch/ as much as possible, but again this CCP shit makes things weird. Would appreciate a DM on exactly how that whole thing works. Things may change as we go, but I plan on keeping everyone informed of what the changes might be, so I'll keep you faggots updated as we go.

It's not really stealing. It's less like boards on the chans and more like buckets that posts go into. Anything (that isn't in a sub set as a containment sub) can end up on v/all if it is popular, and if you subscribe to a sub, it will show up with all your other subs on their homepage.
So, you aren't stealing, you're sharing, and it's a magic pie that gets bigger the more people are eating it.
