You guys know the Voat drill when Reddit bans something:

Single file lines!

Voat is too broke to get real servers so we must take turns. We must act civilized and share in an orderly fashion or else it just ends up looking like a Black Friday nightmare around here and no one wants that.

So pick your time slot and stick to it, no cheating. Everyone has a 30 second window to Voat. Go.

The problem isn't a lack of ways to make money but rather the inability to accept money through payment processors. We've basically been blackballed from the most common ways to process digital payment.

What if you sold traditional merch (t-shirts, hats) via some established merchant? Even at low volume you could sell a hat for $50 and take in say $25 of donation money after costs and their markup? Package the hat with a keycode that gives a account that enters it a year of "voat gold" that confers some small benefit. Sell a $100 hoodie with a lifetime membership.

And how would you send that merchant money?

Through the payment processors who already used their influence to shut Voat and others out of other options.

It would go on for maybe a couple of weeks and then the merchant would get a call from Visa saying "pull this product or you won't be able to process Visa transactions anymore thus cutting off half your potential business"

Where would 90% of people have to go to get crypto. What does that place do to accounts it doesn't like. How many extra steps would it take to bypass that. What percentage of potential customers are left after making at least two successive 90% cuts. How badly are you getting raped by default by competitors who walk the politically correct line simply because they can get paid with dollars normally without such barriers or tricks

Absolutely completely stop trying to think of ways to work around the existing system, because to everyone else the existing system is called the economy and being forced out of it because we allowed our enemies near-total control of the financial industry is not acceptable. I think that situation is less likely, typically payment gateway vendors use language that cites the "risky" nature of donations and sale of digital goods (chargebacks, etc) this side steps that explanation and adds the benefit of running on a established account with a history of good standing.

I just don't know know much about Bitcoin, I send money to people all the time to just a PayPal email address. I have not jumped on the Bitcoin wagon yet. Thanks for replying back.
