If BRCC has escalated matters on the legal level using a different angle (especially after the escalation of making the request public and pinning it as an announcement), it might have been necessary for Putt to stay silent to the public. Or at least that his legal advisor has persuaded him to stay silent, which is par of the course for any legal dispute.

@PuttItOut, please ignore all of the would-be Voat managers that feel they have a say in top level decisions. Just do what you have to do to keep the site running.
I’d guess it was because it resulted in brigading, though he was just asking for thoughts on how to handle such situations in the future. After BRCC made nice he didn’t want it to continue to stand as a call to arms.
It was his own damn submission, so deleting it was not really some sort of evil censorship. Hell I occassionally delete my posts when I decide they aren’t useful, too.

The problem we have at Voat with fulfilling this request, is that we don't have any way to permanently ghost an account. Since we value transparency, it simply isn't possible with the code we've written unless we go in and 'spez' the data itself.
