In 2008, Tom Turbiville observed 35 years in sports related businesses, starting in 1973 as sports editor of the Irving Daily News. For the past 15 years, he has been sports director for The Zone. Tom also served three and a half years as Texas A&M's sports information director under Jackie Sherrill. His first radio gig was as sports director at KAGG, Aggie 96 in Bryan/College Station. Tom has received 10 first-place recognitions from the Texas Associated Press Broadcasters for not only his work in sports but for his work the last nine years as producer and host of "Bravo Brazos Valley," a daily radio program that features positive stories of the people, programs, and events of the Brazos Valley. Tom is a co-host of WTAW's popular morning show, "The Infomaniacs." In addition, Tom serves with Dave South and Dave Elmendorf as sideline reporter for Aggie football games. He has also served as color commentator for A&M Consolidated football and as South's broadcast partner for Texas A&M baseball. For the last two years, he has been named Bryan/College Station's "Favorite Radio Personality" by "The Eagle Reader's Poll." Since 2005, Tom has been the producer and host of the weekly "Veterans of the Valley" TV show on Texas A&M's PBS affiliate, KAMU-TV. The show salutes and highlights the war stories of military veterans from the Brazos Valley. Tom and his wife Judy have three sons, two daughters-in-law, and five grandchildren. Most free weekends, they can be found spending time together in Port Aransas, where some day they hope to retire.
