I Just Updated my Tutorial on How to Archive Instagram Posts (pizzagate)

Hi everyone,

Over the years, /v/pizzagate has been really good about doing three things that I wish all journalists did: citing sources for all facts, making arguments assuming people will try to poke holes in them, and making corrections when wrong. One of the big things that makes our work convincing is archiving posts. Items on social media often get deleted or turned private, but an archive remains. Lately on /v/pizzagate, there have been some excellent digging into various Instagram accounts. However, many of the contributors only posted screenshots. While screenshots are better than nothing, third-party verification is more convincing to skeptics, especially with regards to captions and comments of a post, which could easily be photo-shopped. Instagram doesn't allow for direct archival through their site. However, third-party sites are allowed to use Instagram's API and those sites are able to be archived. Since these third-party sites change over time and have varying features, it is hard to know which ones to use. So to help us all out I just updated my post from about a year and a half ago : I decided not to replace that post entirely as I know many users have it saved. I know new comments aren't allowed on my old post so feel free to post any questions here. Since some of you may have missed my old archival tutorials, I will add those below as well. This post isn't meant to criticize at any contributor, instead I just want to help our subverse's credibility.
