Victims need to come out in groups! Safety in numbers!

The only kind of verification I need is that a story rings true. I'm a survivor myself and I've heard other people talk about horrifying sexual abuse. What that dude said that struck me was his confusion (he said he had Stockholm Syndrome), his destruction of evidence to avoid reminders (PTSD triggers), and his general confused and embarrassed behavior in response to getting attacked.

It is terrifying to imagine facing your abuser in any circumstance. They and you both remember your worst moments- when they asked you if you liked it and you were scared and said you did, or when you willingly went and talked to them again after they abused you, thus making it seem like you forgave them. These things hang over your head and make you wish you could die. That's the kind of stuff that keeps people quiet.
