A note on restaurants:

Restaurants have enormous failure rates as businesses. I've heard the number 90%, and given that chains constitute a large proportion of successful restaurants, the failure rate of individual restaurants may be higher.

Usually, the evolution of business goes like this: the first business of a type is a new technology and makes a lot of money, the next layer of tech adopters make some money, but after that the money to be made quickly approaches something in line with ordinary returns on risk (interest rates, essentially). In other words, common businesses should tend toward low rates of return, but this is far from implying a "90% blow up rate". What is the difference?

I've always posited that the primary difference is that restaurants are a great way to launder money, acting as fronts from other criminal enterprise. So, it should not be shocking, and perhaps even fully expected, that restaurants are used as fronts for child sex operations (which can generate revenue to keep the front operating).

What would be interesting would be to investigate the finances and transaction histories of such businesses to find out if they really operate for profit or to see if there is anything going on like fake orders added to the business that would allow for the washing of cash into the company coffers.

Not much more than what I can remember. There was a thread about Roberta's and the Clinton's visit that was deleted, there was one that showed a picture from their Tumblr account that depicted children with skull heads dancing around a pentagram, and at least one other thread that was deleted. There was also a thread about the pizza-and-furries Tumblr http://archive.is/pizza-and-furries.tumblr.com which was linked to Roberta's Tumblr via the above-mentioned picture. That Tumblr account also had the man-kissing-pizza (Comet Facebook profile picture) in multiple places. That thread was quickly deleted as well and the OP was threatened with a ban. A lot of strange things were happening on that subreddit towards the end.

That is likely what ultimately makes it such a strategic cover. Pizza as a literal food is extremely popular in western nations, for every one that is used as a front, there are likely hundreds to thousands more that are genuine and not nefarious, making it that much easier to blend in and that much more difficult for regular citizens to connect the dots.

I'd imagine its a lot like the dirty cops in NY in the 80's. They busted drug dealers, but only on behalf of the dealers they themselves were working for. In the Franklin case, the chief of police was named as heavily involved in the rape, procurement, pimping and cover up. When investigators floated his name to the FBI head in there, he told em to fuck off, Chief Wadamn was a good friend off his, and told them, if you value your life, I better not hear any more inquiries into my friend.
