Can you give me an example? This post was the first one I saw this morning and is correctly titled with the game name, character name, and even the artist - which isn't required. The character's appearance accurately reflects the subject of the drawing, setting aside the casual choice of clothing.
NSFW pictures while not a rule issue are not what most come here for. Pictures in general don't really leave much to discuss about gaming so while on topic they contribute little to the community discussions. I tend to not bother viewing image posts so don't voat at all on them, actually had to look at the posts and posters to notice there was a bulk from one person after seeing this post.
I empathize, since fan-made art isn't my interest. I'm a news hound, so that's exclusively what I post and I'm pretty happy that /v/gaming naturally skews to news much more than Reddit's gaming subs. But at the same time there aren't a lot of people posting non-news stuff, so I'm also thankful for people who post that type of content despite the flack.
His posts are always feature characters from gaming series and he's actually unusually respectful of rule 2, tagging a game name in the title even when it's a very popular character. It's alright to not like his content and downvoat it, but saying he violates rule 1 or 2 is nonsense.
this post. this post violates those rules and should be deleted, user warned. if I was talking about those that's where I would have posted. you have a lot really worthless people targeting this sub simply because it a default. letting it happen is the worst thing you can do
Meta posts have been allowed in /v/gaming for a long time. We used to redirect them to a dedicated meta discussion sub, but people complained that we were quietly ferreting away discussion about /v/gaming where it would be less visible. And I agree. It makes more sense to me that discussions about /v/gaming always be allowed in /v/gaming where everyone can weigh in on them. You might not have seen this post or commented here if it was tucked away in a dedicated meta sub.
You know, you have a good point. I think it's worth revisiting with the community how meta posts should be handled and whether the language in rule 1 is enough to permit meta posts or if we need to explicitly allow them.
I appreciate you weighing in here. We've done a lot to clarify the subverse rules to be as specific and predictable as possible; I didn't expect to uncover any more unaddressed gray areas but I think you have a valuable point worth addressing.

that's nice, but this post is NOT discussing gaming. you're skirting the issue. its off topic and pushing an agenda.
