NSFW pictures while not a rule issue are not what most come here for. Pictures in general don't really leave much to discuss about gaming so while on topic they contribute little to the community discussions. I tend to not bother viewing image posts so don't voat at all on them, actually had to look at the posts and posters to notice there was a bulk from one person after seeing this post.
I empathize, since fan-made art isn't my interest. I'm a news hound, so that's exclusively what I post and I'm pretty happy that /v/gaming naturally skews to news much more than Reddit's gaming subs. But at the same time there aren't a lot of people posting non-news stuff, so I'm also thankful for people who post that type of content despite the flack.
