I’ve banned all Sane alts (while leaving the main account alone) for spamming. If Sane (or his group) wants to post on Voat, they can do so without using alts to hide behind, thus preventing their main accounts from being downvoted and thus restricted. I am done letting this group stomp all over Voat unfettered* like a spoiled toddler and pushing me to enact draconian rules to prevent them from doing so.
Don’t for a second be fooled at the motivations this group has for Voat, they seek not to help. They seek only to force censorship, drive away users, and ultimately destroy Voat while ruining Voat’s commitment to Freedom of Speech. I will not let them win.
They setup an unwinnable situation for Voat, and no matter Voat’s action, they can claim a victory.
If Voat bans them, they claim censorship. If Voat does nothing, reasonable users depart. Regardless of the action, a user subset will be infuriated, and this is entirely the purpose, divide and conquer. We all need to recognize exactly what is happening here. This isn’t about a single user, this is about an organized effort.
If you ever wondered why Reddit has so many private and obfuscated areas in code, fuzzed counters, shadow bans, etc.? It is to stop groups like this. The problem is, as you all know, once this code is implemented it can be used for both good and evil. I choose not to use the little time available on such things, and will instead ban users who engage in Amalek/ManHood101 style spamming in order to maliciously claim censorship later.
A user is free to say whatever they wish, but if they resort to using alt accounts in order to circumvent the protections we do have, these alt accounts will be banned for spamming.
I’m also pulling Sane off v/TIL and v/ReportShills and moving both to @system. Both these subs were transferred to “him” and “he” has not been a good steward. What a joke. Enough of this as well.

you watch. jailbait and drawn loli porn are getting rarer and rarer. when that shit goes free speech goes with it. mostly with the jailbait. thing is, when people see jailbait being posted they unconsciously realize they are in a zone where the most offensive views can be taken, where the truth can be told. but people are social animals, without those jailbait postings, they will try to conform to the group. that is why all social websites are at risk of becoming user created echo chambers. jailbait preserves free speech. people might not realize it, it may be counterintuitive. but truly unpopular ideas, that is the best thing to post to preserve free speech.

I post now and again. and I also stand for free speech. but more and more those of us who care about free speech are going the way of the birds. I am not claiming that voat the site is censoring. I am claiming that the community that has come to voat over the last few years has brought with it an attitude of pro-censorship and moralist authoritarians. before pizzagate came around you didn't see half the harassment of the subs I am talking about and you saw more than 3 times the posters. we both have been around long enough to know that to be true.

If you don't like what is being said then make yourself heard... and if your opinion is that of a fucked-up pedo that gets turgid when little children are hurt, then you should expect decent people to feel rightfully disgusted... however a lack of pedophilia on Voat is not a failure of free speech.

I don't like it when children get hurt. I like it when they smile and look pretty. a simple peruse of anything I have ever submitted or encouraged can show that. I like it when people (including children) are happy. there is a false narrative that some things that make children happy, instead hurt them. that narrative is rampant on voat. but look at the diversity of speech on voat and think about the timeline of things turning more and more into an echo chamber where everything is a repeat of the same message. that has been happening very consistently with the reduction of jailbait posts.
it isn't directly linked with jailbait. other things that are unpopular could easily fill the role. but the role is something unpopular being said that is tolerated enough to show other people that it is ok to post an intolerable thought.
honestly at this point I don't care much. you may have noticed I haven't been on voat near as much lately. I'm like a lot of other people, I have moved on. there are better sites out there if you want to be able to say damn near anything and not have an echo chamber bitch, moan, and threaten you over it.
