Most of you are discerning enough to see past the spam and realize that @Puttitout is telling us to unmask our users and heavily moderate the subverse while citing complaints from the spammers brigading our community. Consider that our subverse is marked as NSFW and has anonymous turned on which prevents our content from hitting v/all. We have secluded ourselves in a dark corner of the site and followed all the rules set forth by Voat admins. With that in mind we are announcing QRP as the official backup to v/QRV. See you there.

Let's put it this way:

rPV have been trying to push a "Voat is compromised" narrative since their inception as a subverse and for a long time prior to that too. The narrative has relied on various talking points over the years (I shit you not, dig around and you'll find the history) not least of all "because SBBH and ProtectVoat!".

Now, SBBH do themselves no favors in this never ending tussle, but really the rPV crew will latch on to anything if they think it will push people away from Voat. PV has been exploited before, but for the most part, they are consistent in their mission to ensure that moderator overreach is addressed.

rPV on the other hand, does nothing whatsoever and only stokes conflict. The subverse name is an ironic one, in that they do not have Voat's best interest in mind. One look reveals that they are largely behind to attacks on QRV and GA, using "because SBBH" as an attack vector - this is distinct from the trolling from certain people associated with SBBH.

The most unfortunate part here, is that SBBH has rPV-affiliated users who have inserted themselves under the guise of trolling. Many SBBH users cannot see this because for them, trolling and shitposting is life, so they mostly don't care.

So basically, rPV plays all sides both overtly and subtly, because they have an underlying goal of attacking Voat on the whole and quite particularly, the Q-related subverses. Again distinguishing attacks from annoying trolling, while noting that even the trolling has crossed a line of late.

 

There's a lot of history to wade through, but ultimately, remember the name Amalek if you decide to go digging and everything will become quite clear.

I would add that goats are a very tolerant bunch when it comes to dissenting points of view and the responsibility of the information consumer to discern good from evil for themselves. Many, probably most, think the ying and yang of rPV vs. PV is a noxious but positive sign of Voat's healthy free market of ideas. Same for the chaotic neutral funhouse that is SBBH.

PV involves a lot of users who want to prevent Reddit cancer from taking root ever time there is a big migration from that censorship and ban-happy hellhole. Those folks also happen to be very good at exposing shills paid to subvert communities and push narratives here on Voat, because the tactics involved in that generally include calls for censorship, politically correct tone policing, etc. They bust a lot of heads. The negative publicity they create for those they target can result in a lot of downvotes for those individuals.

rPV was founded, as the name suggests, to discredit ProtectVoat, by people whose subversive activities brought them under the targeting sites of PV. They don't want this scrutiny and constantly claim PV are hypocrites whose insistence that all subverses adhere to certain anti-censorship standards is a form of censorship, and the publicizing of their conduct is really vote brigading. From what I've observed, these guys think free speech means freedom from consequences.

If you SearchVoat most of their usernames' comment contributions to v/Announcements, though, you will see a clear pattern of attempted disruption, Concern Trolling, demoralization and general destructiveness which makes their overall purpose here clear. They are anti-Voat.

That said, though, there is a positive side. Here's an analogy: A human immune system, if not exposed to parasitic organisms, has a tendency to develop autoimmunity, i.e. hypersensitive allergies and disease due to an overactive immune system. But expose the body to parasites, and the immune system learns to self-regulate as it does battle against the invaders. I see a similar dynamic between PV (Voat's white blood cells) and rPV (Voat's parasitic infection). Power corrupts, and PV is held accountable to some extent because rPV attempts to defame and discredit them. It's messy, but it works.
