Is it anonymous? Like can you change your handle or is it more like Voat and Reddit than the chans in that regard?

It is engineered for anonymity, but it is also public. You can create user accounts as you like. (You need to backup your account folders to restore them. Always a good idea anyway.) You will love it! :)
