I love this shithole. My tech skills are fairly meager but I would absolutely contribute monetarily and otherwise to Voat's survival or whatever can be built from it's ashes.
If you have any ideas/suggestions to BuiLd BAcK BetTEr post them. Example: I've heard of some anonymous/distributed hosting tech that could let a place like this survive, but I have no idea if they're really functional.

Web software engineer here - I will create a replacement, if you guys are good with a couple rules:
I will accept financial support to pay for hosting, but I’ll also pitch in a few hundy to kick it off.
I will use a warrant canary and will not store IP logs.
If you guys are OK with that, I’ll put up a placeholder domain, but only if this gets traction and everyone is gonna move over there.

Don't use a warrant canary. The alphabet soup gang has an internal policy to kill any canary as a sort of "out-of-spite" policy. Yes really.
They kill the canary on any site that uses them 1. to spite any site that tries it, 2. to discourage and moot the utility of it, so it doesn't spread as a practice.

Interesting. Maybe I should work under the MO of having a warrant canary specific to every hour of the day and even for specific users. I wonder what the practical limits are there.

That is something in my idea folder. Would make it a lot easier for people to establish grounds to sue for malicious interference in 1st amendment speech.
