I love this shithole. My tech skills are fairly meager but I would absolutely contribute monetarily and otherwise to Voat's survival or whatever can be built from it's ashes.
If you have any ideas/suggestions to BuiLd BAcK BetTEr post them. Example: I've heard of some anonymous/distributed hosting tech that could let a place like this survive, but I have no idea if they're really functional.

The reason that Putt doesn't accept donations and only informs us 4 days before the closure of the site is that this was always a honeypot to collect data on right-wing users.

NOT TRUE.
The reason that Putt doesn't accept donations is that he still has ~300 bitcoins he moved out to a different BTC wallet from voats official wallet and the coins are worth 400 * $23,000 , this week : $9,200,000
(The bitcoin donation addy that was on voat for ages):

So money is not the problem then? Then what is.

It is coded with a type of bug that causes a lockup, but not the lock we experience. That lock we experience, I propose is caused by a giant full forensic debug dump, meant to understand the nature of voats crash. Its probably a interdependancy lockup, or a recursion lockup , or a incorrect sort filter order bug. you filter THEN sort , never sort then filter. The three minutes voat goes down is probably a state dump. Longer than 3 minutes is a full server reboot and corruption scan of databases... for a total of ??? minutes.
better coding , switching to javascript and node, use of Mongo database, could all help it scale and run fine.
