I have good tech skills, but no time. Site maintenance is a time and money vortex, and if everyone is working for free, cooperation between individuals is less likely.

The other problem is this particular software platform takes up a lot of hard drive space compared to a chan platform due to the post backlog, so will be more expensive to maintain. Reddit can do it because they are owned by (((big media))), but I doubt that Reddit itself makes any sort of a real profit.
