Need to move to a distributed network: Mastodon, ZeroNet (ZeroMe or ZeroVoat), Element/Riot/XMPP, Retroshare, Freenet, etc.

My main suggestion would be ZeroNet

Mastadon and freenet are comprimised. Don't know about zeronet or riot, but I heard good things about both.

Mastodon allows one to host one's own instance, but it's more like twitter. It's not completely decentralized and the development team is very left.

Development team for Element (formerly Riot) is left, I think. It's more of a replacement for WhatsApp and chatrooms. Still requires hosts, but the XMPP protocol it runs on is completely open.

ZeroNet appears to be entirely distributed. Not a huge userbase at the moment. ZeroMe is something like twitter. ZeroVoat is something like Voat, but seems to be dead.
