Went there once a long time ago with family and cousins, stayed in cabins and went to a nice park...Found a wild moose in the woods. No bad memories from it. But I'm sure there are downsides, I just don't know what they are.
Anchorage has turned into a shithole. Lived there from '98 to 2012 and got toa watch slowly get trashier and trashier. Lots of homeless people, drunk natives, violent Samoans and ex-Army Niggers ans their mutt offspring. The valley was a bit better but not by much, probably just as bad now.
Hm I probably should've realized the army folks that live there are mutts. Army men in general seem to fall prey to race-mixing in high numbers. But I still automatically picture army families as being White. You'd think nigs and other mudskins would stay away from cold temperatures. Kind of weird.
Was raised as an Army brat, you'd be surprised how many nigs are in the military. They don't really have a choice as to where they get sent, so some end up in places you wouldn't typically think to find them and they end up staying. Seems especially true in AK cause the free yearly cash gibs.

Parts of it is like living on an Indian reservation, so higher crime, drugs, and drunk driving.
Cost of living can be incredibly low, unless you need anything from out of your community then it's insanely expensive.
Many parts of Alaska are very difficult to get to especially during winter.
Every year the sun goes away for a while and depression rates get pretty bad.
Still a pretty decent place to live. Absolutely beautiful state. Strong 2nd amendment protection. Interesting oil based economy. But definitely comes with challenges.
It's a cool place. The wealther, the midnight sun, the culture. Speaking of Anchorage. But in terms of culture it is really diversity central. How many places are you going to meet substantial numbers of Mexicans and Eskimos together? There are a lot of blacks there too. And interracial couples. Just another American city in the ugliness factor in looking at population quality.
I only personally see Alaska as viable for young men looking for adventure, for visiting, or for some hypothetical white flood that overruns the state demographically in preparation for turning it into an independent state. Otherwise I'd sooner move to a place like Billings, Montana if I wanted a larger population center and cold weather.
I'm a young woman looking for a place to find a good man. Not really into adventures or diversity. I'll look for somewhere else, then. I had the impression it was very White.
Have you considdered Washington? When you get away from Seattle, Tacoma, Olympia it is less liberal. I am told the islands are pretty white and conservative as is the dry side of the state. There are still a LOT of whites here piec we are still one of the whitest states in the country and we need every white baby and good conservative woman we can get.
Lots of crazies up there but also some very good people in the mix as well and its very diverse especially in Anchorage. Avoid Anchorage and look into Homer or one of the other smaller towns. There are a lot of cool smaller towns but the reason why they stay that way is people dont really talk about them.
I know this is way past due but I just came back online. Do not move to Anchorage it's the dirtiest big city out there. Start with Homer and if you are of the same mind set others will show you the less traveled paths.
Well, i think Anchorage is somewhat similar to most American cities demographically, however, I’m also reasonably sure in the state men outnumber the women substantially, so if you’re searching for a good man, that may not be such a bad idea.
Hell, I’d want to get to know you if for the only reason you haven’t ran from this website screaming. But, I’m an old man.
I lived in Skagway. Alaska is very expensive as most food and products are shipped in. Half of the population is utter trash. Mosquitos galore in the summer, also bears. There isn't much going on but hunting and fishing. It's stupid cold starting from early September through March. It's a good place for isolating

Thank you. I might try to work at a place in Anchorage, my dream job is out there, and commute in.
Edit: dream job until I am married and home with the kids haha.

Lots of violent native Alaskans. Wild west culture. Very expensive to live.
Those are just the downsides though, upside is living in Americas last great frontier.
indreams ago
Are they violent to other natives or to Whites?
WolfShepherd ago
When intoxicated, anyone in their path.
Bigdickedelf ago
Both. If you are ever around them when they start drinking leave them instantly
