The best part of Voat is the community. Voat is nothing without it, just as Reddit is nothing without theirs, and as you can see it is slowly dying for not standing up to reason.
As users, we all have very little control in the general operations of Voat, but if the community is real, it is possible to build actual things that are not just on Voat. The problem, as I see it, is that there are very little ways to build something positive in the real world if it puts a very real target on your back.
You're forgetting the time around when Victoria was fired and then all the bans on fatpeoplehate, coontown, niggers, etc. Like Hysterical said, 2014-2015 was when there was a sea change for the worse.
I am feeling the sea change happening now on voat. Do you feel it too?

Reddit was good and normal till right before mid 2016 right about the time Seth Rich was killed but post that and you're likely to get banned.
