I realized that if you don't install the app/plugin, it's basically like the other discussion sites, where at the top of the page is an article/video, and below that comments. I don't know whether I could ever see it as anything but that, unless its commenting system integrates into the website's normal comments and you have it on all the time so wherever you visit has a comment box below. Even then, the fact that most people won't even see it makes it seem like I'm just pretending.
If you choose to use it and only it when comment sections on pages are still there, you have Shadowbanned yourself.
If you use it on pages where comment sections are disabled, the rest of the Internet will learn to look at Dissenter to see what people are saying. This is an improvement.
I have it installed. But I'm still commenting on your Voat post on Voat here because I'm not a retard :D
Have to always check the sources for bullshit with every update. I already don't like the mandatory registration. Allows for a multitude of censorship. Its problems can easily be rectified by using a text file blacklist of words that turns those words into asterisks prior to submission ala 1998 coding methods.
Also, this idea will eventually implode. If 100 million people use this to side step Twitter, why would anyone go to twitter in the first place? Why not just chat directly on Gab or elsewhere? Seeing this migration, Twitter and other social media sites will try and ban its usage to keep its userbase.
The most likely people to check on that would be people who've installed Dissenter. If it's just a few people saying First!, that wouldn't be useful at all. But if it's like normal comments sections (like on youtube videos), people would hopefully mention related links and content, provide backstories, and that kind of thing.
The last youtube video I watched this morning had all of that in the comment section, where the video itself just contained clips with no links.
It looks like you currently have to remember to click on the Dissenter extension thingie up in the address bar, but maybe that will change in future iterations.
I agree. They will want to know what people are saying about them and the issues they're virtue signalling over 'behind their backs' . The SJeWs will see it if you link to it in a tweet. Unless Twitter will indiscriminately ban everything dissenter.com related.
Honestly, I think the name is shitty and trying to be too edgy, should have named it more appropriately and less obvious. Overall though, it's a great idea to add comment sections to articles that ban comments, let the shitposts begin and the leftists cake their pants, it will be hilarious.
Dissenter is resistance. voat is resistance. You can go gently into the night or you can rage against the dying of the light.
Rage. Never not Rage. Fight with every fiber of your being. Do not be silenced. Silence is death of the mind and body.
Get it into your head...violence of mind and body are natural state of man. When violence of the mind goes on unchecked, violence of the body soon follows. You can fight it on the internet or you can fight it at the Battle of the Second Street Denny's. Violence is coming. Fight it with words or be prepared to fight it with bullets eventually.
Inb4 jewish honeypot. The internet is a Jewish honeypot.
Not fully, no. The removal of the distinction between what's better/worse is a Jewish tactic. So is defeatism, or blackpilling. Anything by gab.ai is suspect.
Do you know how easy it is currently, to completely kill dissenter if a page wants?
You redirect to a custom RESTful-generated URL (I believe you don't even have to redirect. You can set the URL in javascript). Poof. Now every page is a unique URL, and nobody uses Dissenter to comment on your comment-disabled "article" (read: propaganda)
Yeah, can't see that Dissenter would take more than an hour to make obsolete. Dissenter should move to analyzing page structure and data, instead of just matching URLs. Implementing changes to defeat this are possible, but having to change structure/layout would be extremely slow compared to the extension dev reaction.
It's a cool novelty and not much else at this point, whats needed is a larger user base. It's new tech, one of a kind and hasn't found its place yet, give it time I have a feeling it'll be the next big thing.
I believe it will prove valuable, even if Gab censors it's user content - because the idea is now out there, and there really is nothing that prevents others from doing the same thing. Voat could do it right here. Somebody will do it, especially if censorship is occurring.
Before the internet, the powers that be had a near total lock on all means of communication. TV, Radio, News, all of the print media, distribution of all of these were tightly regulated and controlled. They would very much like to impose a similar system on the internet, and are trying everything in their power to get back to those good old days.
Building the internet opened a Pandora's box, and I like it very much better than what we used to have. Fuck the powers that be, their efforts to restore information control must be thwarted.
(((Gab))) is run by jew & hindu (@a & @u). A very dangerous collaboration. When jews & hindus do team work you get Sundar Pichai's Google & Saikat Chakrabarti's Green New Deal, & Ofcourse, other honorable mentions, Saddiq Khan's London, Vardekar's Ireland, Satya Nadella's Microsoft and many more scumbags in power with the help of jews. Like I posted in the other thread about this ...so without the "app" you can't see any of these controversial comments, yep it's gonna change the interwebs fellas, get busy....lol...sounds like another echo chamber and honey pot to me.
Here is my problem. To me, dissenter is nothing more than a pacification system. It is giving people the illusion of having their voices heard, without them actually having their voices heard. (((They))) played this one right. (((They))) knew if they continued to fully censor a certain sect of voices, eventually people would get so enraged they would spill into the streets. This system now allows the censored to appear to have a voice. Thus the pacification. Kind of like when (((they))) realized there was too much steam from keeping people enslaved, so they created a system of slavery where they slaves think they are free. It is all an illusion.
Now these people get their personal satisfaction of having their voices heard, regardless of the obvious echo chamber, and then they relent.
I think dissenter is a pretty cool way of bringing uncensored commenting back to many sites that have taken commenting down.
Dissenter effectively shadow bans its users from the wider internet. It’s a ghost comment section that 99% of the internet won’t see
I think this is actually pretty cool. It'll be like everything else internet, there will be early adopters, and then slowly the rest of the internet will follow suit.
As has been pointed out https://voat.co/v/whatever/3071988/17123992, gab is Jewish controlled. So it is probably an attempt to lead the opposition and won't be uncensored forever, so I don't think it's the final solution.
For those concerned about privacy, my (Linux-only) solution is to create a separate account for dissenter and run chromium-browser (or brave-browser, firefox) from it. Just ssh to localhost forwarding X. Set some environment variables and the data goes over the vpn, not tied to my ip.
I use other browsers with other accounts for other stuff, that way everything is separated and it's much harder to track me. I think.
It's a step in the right direction but it should be used only in sandboxed environments for obvious reasons. The registration doesn't seem to be working atm which kind of sucks.
I just commented on his thread about Gab and what I forgot I had was this.
Dissenter is an app, which unlike cookies has exclusive access to just about everything on your device. Every piece of information stored or communicated can be mined. It is in my opinion the very purpose of data mining isn't for advertising, it is to stifle any opposition to the communist takeover they've been planning for years.
(((They))) know damn well what resistance to communism can do to them, and that's why they say "never again" in regards to Germany. Why is it people are quoting Ted Kaczynski when talking about the dangers of technology to civilization on a whole? I see it as a means of herding the sheep to the slaughterhouse.
It is in my opinion the very purpose of data mining isn't for advertising, it is to stifle any opposition to the communist takeover they've been planning for years
Racialist Communists =labor Zionists. They are the shitty ones, a real communist revolution isn't axiomatically based around race.
It's not an app... it's an open source browser extension that is about 50 lines of java script code, if you cared to download and look at it yourself. But you would prefer to spew shit abut it instead.
Yes, all that is related to this site. Not the other sites I visit. The problem is that dissenter is funneling all the data from all the sites into one site. Instead of each site individually knowing I've been there, instead one site knows every site I've been to, and displays it publicly.
Perfect comment with no answers. Where is your info going?
There is no more info exchanged that when you visit Voat... time to delete your Voat account because they log your IP address and the time you visited and what browser you use. They also track every link you post.
Again. Provide documentation besides the publicly accessible code, it doesn't tell you anything beyond that it's being tracked, like where it goes afterwards. And you STILL didn't answer my question as to mobile users, can they use it or is it desktop only?
You bring up an important point about apps accessing your info. I'm going to delete/remove all apps I know I'll never use from my devices and I suggest others do likewise.
Wont really matter. There are apps you cant remove without jailbraking the device. Its springing from the hot pan to the hot water. The only way is to stop using devices.
AKA Change My Mind. Nothing I have said can be proven wrong either.
It's rather curious why, instead of running along to enjoy this "totally not an app in the Chrome app store" you stay here shilling for it like your job depends on it.
Anyone can plug their ears or ignore dissent. We know there are those on both sides prone to do so. But for many, it will pique an irresistable curiosity, and you don't need to be a user to view the comments...
Some sites (e.g. foxnews) don’t have comment sections, so it’s great for those. And it only is a ghost comment section if it doesn’t gain popularity. If it does gain traction, it is the comment section of the internet.
I'm glad people are figuring out the problem with Dissenter right away. Our views don't spread by jerking each other off in the basement about how terrible SJWs are. Our views spread by getting normies to see and contemplate what we have to say. When normies see the evidence and reasoning we produce, some of them will break their mental conditioning and join us.
Normies aren't looking to download an add-on made by a literal evil Nazi, where only literal evil Nazis come to spout their evil hatred. And that's the opinion they'll have if they happen to hear about Dissenter in the mainstream; most of them won't even hear about it.
I think it's kind of a neat idea in the same way Voat is. If I used Chrome, I'd probably use Dissenter to comment with other like-minded folks from time to time. But, whether intentional or not, Dissenter is a containment chamber for dissenters, keeping the masses from having to consider what we say. We need to put our information into the normiesphere as much as we can.
Just a note, the extension is available for multiple browsers https://dissenter.com/download or you can also just use that website. No extension necessary.
You aren't worth arguing with nor is the subject. You're a sperging retard over nothing. Are others shilling for Dissenter? Probably. But if you look through my history there are maybe 8 comments about them w that 1 link, and no submissions. If I'm being paid I'm being pretty lazy about it.
Now please shut the fuck up you complete mongolid jackass.
You basically summed up my thoughts so far. The comments aren't on the page for the story in question. The vast majority of people will never see them. If you're using the Dissenter site it's basically like being at Gab. I'll still check it and Gab on occasion but I don't see it as the game changer it's being touted as.
Yes, but you can only see those comments if you've gone the the trouble of either installing the extension for your browser or looking the story up on Dissenter.com . I can name every Jew and it's irrelevant as far as 98% of the world is concerned because it's invisible to them.
I often make and read comments on the youtube videos I watch because you can find useful or additional information, backstories, and links. Seems like Dissenter could be useful for that when there's no other way to comment.
Published details about the founder Andrew Torba state he is Christian (various business sites, interviews, self identifies as) and he and his family are constantly posting christian stuff on Gab. I have not seen anybody offer any proof otherwise.
There have been a few high profile bans on Gab that have been the result of pressure from outside sources and bans due to TOS violations (dox, threats, murders etc...). For Example: Stormer was banned for a fake meme because the domain registration authority ( ICANN ) was threatening to pull registration rights from any registrar that serviced any site Anglin posted dead fat chick memes too. Little was banned for harassment / threat to dox and promoting holohoax museum vandalism. From what I saw of the exchanges from those two examples at the time I got the feeling the "victims" were trying to get banned as a means to self-promote.
As for Gab's utility as a micro blogging site it's 1000x better than Twitter but is not intended to be a Reddit-alike like VOAT or a Facebook-alike like Minds. It is what it is. Gab's utility is potentially much greater with the Dissenter "on page" comments widget though imho.
Of all the browser extensions available, the only one that censors words is the one you would download from the Jew run Chrome Store for Chrome browser. All other browser extensions are censor free. If you're using, then the Jew already has your number.
The extension is about 50 line of java script code with s little HTML and some icons.
Torba is not a Jewish name... that's just stupid... it has Spanish origins.
Andrew Anglin was using Gab to promote his own site and was unhappy that Torba would not bend over backwards at this every whim. He still to this day uses Gab to post articles to his site. See here: https://gab.com/AndrewAnglin
I just don't get the point about spreading lies about gab unless you're being paid to do it.
Of all the browser extensions available, the only one that censors words is the one you would download from the Jew run Chrome Store for Chrome browser.
Which is a huge problem, because it's a form of shadow-banning, and thus nudges everyone to conform to censorship terms, if they want everyone to see their posts / replies / discussions.
This is pushing everyone to become comfortable with censorship, and shape everyone's posting habits to become poltiically correct, as people learn to avoid using "bad words" (like the word "Jew").
If Gab really cared about promoting free speech, they would NOT distribute a censored version, at all. They know full well that the censored version on the Google Chrome Store version will likely become the most widely distributed version, which means that that version will end up pushing everyone else to conform to censorship, so that posts / replies / discussions are visible and coherent.
Just a technical point on the censored words. I downloaded the version from their website, not the chrome store, in the belief that only the chrome store version does the censoring. Does anyone know if it's just the chrome store version that censors? Are the other versions fine with naming the jew, and etc?
Wait, what do phones have to do with anything? And as for the real conversation, I thought the whole point of Dissenter is enable conversations where none are currently possible.
Published details about the founder Andrew Torba state he is Christian (various business sites, interviews, self identifies as) and he and his family are constantly posting christian stuff on Gab. I have not seen anybody offer any proof otherwise.

I dont think its about honeypotting anymore. They have everyone on a list or another already. Its about finding out about their life as much as possible and design the next system to ensure this type of people never develope again.
Also having feedback about stuff like the gilette ad or other brainwashing is really useful, and its practically hidden from "normies" as they dont care about privacy, they dont have anything to hide, so your input wont be diluted by them.
Google should have built a comment system into its browser years ago. They didn't because it conflicts with their desire to deliver control to establishment influencers. They certainly could have done it, everything would have flowed together perfectly. They already had a social network, you're already logged in to your browser.
So what are you supposed to do? Reddit could have done it, they were essentially already a comment system for links but they decided to spend all of their time and money censoring people instead.
There were browser based comment systems before this one but nobody used them. Finally we have a player with a large enough user base where more people see it, you can't ask for more than that.
This was my vision for it too, so it's a little clunky in its current form.
On the bright side, it has just been released and I expect some really clean and simple integrations coming soon. Already today I saw a guy had written a little script to replace the comment section in YouTube with the Dissenter comments for that page (if comments are disabled).
I had the exact same reflection earlier, thanks for posting my thoughts and saving me some typing.
It's a circle jerk extension, nothing else.
It'll never have more users than Gab does so that makes it a very limited audience. I still gave it a shot but afaik I can't install it on Brave for Android.

I hope your paycheck doesn't bounce.

Or yours for (((promotion))) of jew linked honeypots. You're getting as bad as @TexasVet with this shit.

Nothing I have stated can be proved incorrect.

AKA Change My Mind. Nothing I have said can be proven wrong either.
It's rather curious why, instead of running along to enjoy this "totally not an app in the Chrome app store" you stay here shilling for it like your job depends on it.

Im not using banks, gabai shill. Next one please.

The NPCs will know that it is there and that they can do nothing about it. It is going to drive them nuts!

How will they know about it ?

They are already REEEEEing about it.

Anyone can plug their ears or ignore dissent. We know there are those on both sides prone to do so. But for many, it will pique an irresistable curiosity, and you don't need to be a user to view the comments...
aGameCalledCountries ago
Some sites (e.g. foxnews) don’t have comment sections, so it’s great for those. And it only is a ghost comment section if it doesn’t gain popularity. If it does gain traction, it is the comment section of the internet.
syntaxaxe ago
MrPim ago
Just a note, the extension is available for multiple browsers https://dissenter.com/download or you can also just use that website. No extension necessary.
antiliberalsociety ago
Do you get paid for their advertising?
MrPim ago
Do you get SSI for being retarded? The entire thread is about Dissenter. A link to the downloads is an entirely natural thing for someone to post.
antiliberalsociety ago
Over. And over. And over.
MrPim ago
Yes. You can see in my post history the absolutely dozens and dozens of times I've posted about them. Oh wait, that's not in my history at all.
You're a fucking retard.
antiliberalsociety ago
Scroll through the thread, moron. If ANYONE bashes it the links go flying. So go dissent yourself back to reddit
MrPim ago
Oh whatever you sperg. You really are just flat fucking retarded and delusional.
antiliberalsociety ago
Like a jew who has no argument, he resorts to insults. Imagine my surprise.
MrPim ago

Hand_of_Node ago
Isn't the point of dissenter to provide a comment section for pages that don't have one?
MrPim ago
Yes, but you can only see those comments if you've gone the the trouble of either installing the extension for your browser or looking the story up on Dissenter.com . I can name every Jew and it's irrelevant as far as 98% of the world is concerned because it's invisible to them.
Hand_of_Node ago
I often make and read comments on the youtube videos I watch because you can find useful or additional information, backstories, and links. Seems like Dissenter could be useful for that when there's no other way to comment.
MrPim ago
It'll be a nice option to have I think. The more adoption it gets the more interesting it'll be.
Awesome_trump ago
Its main goal is to be for sites that censor / removed the comment sections. So its awesome.
John_B_14 ago
(((Gab))) is a jewish platform, run by a jew, that has repeatedly banned people who name the jew, and their new "Dissenter" browser add-on bans posts that merely include the word "jew".

ratsmack ago
The Dissenter platform uses a Browser Extension, not an app. It is open source here: https://dissenter.com/download
John_B_14 ago
Which is a huge problem, because it's a form of shadow-banning, and thus nudges everyone to conform to censorship terms, if they want everyone to see their posts / replies / discussions.
This is pushing everyone to become comfortable with censorship, and shape everyone's posting habits to become poltiically correct, as people learn to avoid using "bad words" (like the word "Jew").
If Gab really cared about promoting free speech, they would NOT distribute a censored version, at all. They know full well that the censored version on the Google Chrome Store version will likely become the most widely distributed version, which means that that version will end up pushing everyone else to conform to censorship, so that posts / replies / discussions are visible and coherent.
ratsmack ago
Then don't download it from the Chrome store... just download it from the Dissenter site and side load it per the directions.
You'r argument is stupid.
antiliberalsociety ago
Ad Hominem
ratsmack ago
Sound like sanegoat is alive and well... that was his favorite non-argument.
antiliberalsociety ago
Calling it a non argument whilst using a non argument, now we have projection.
Hand_of_Node ago
Just a technical point on the censored words. I downloaded the version from their website, not the chrome store, in the belief that only the chrome store version does the censoring. Does anyone know if it's just the chrome store version that censors? Are the other versions fine with naming the jew, and etc?
MrDarkWater ago
by filtering the phonefags out of the real conversation, they don't silence you, but they block your message to the normies
Hand_of_Node ago
Wait, what do phones have to do with anything? And as for the real conversation, I thought the whole point of Dissenter is enable conversations where none are currently possible.
Corpse_washer ago

I think voat is exactly like reddit. I posted the same obvious problems with dissenter the other day on voat and got hammered for it.
On voat it's not what you say, it's who's cock you suck. Who's cock are you sucking OP?
Rotteuxx ago
No, goats have learned more about it in the past few days thus have a more informed opinion about it today.

Remember when quite a few people were praising black rifle coffee company for being ran by veterans? Turns out it is run by jews.

got to make a list of all the dissenters... you know... so you know who to round up after the revolution.
Corpse_washer ago
I dont think its about honeypotting anymore. They have everyone on a list or another already. Its about finding out about their life as much as possible and design the next system to ensure this type of people never develope again. Also having feedback about stuff like the gilette ad or other brainwashing is really useful, and its practically hidden from "normies" as they dont care about privacy, they dont have anything to hide, so your input wont be diluted by them.
Rotteuxx ago
Russian bots on kikebook will always have more impact on NPCs than Dissenter.

Not getting the extension to work with the Brave Browser is pretty annoying.
oligarchsalamander ago
Google should have built a comment system into its browser years ago. They didn't because it conflicts with their desire to deliver control to establishment influencers. They certainly could have done it, everything would have flowed together perfectly. They already had a social network, you're already logged in to your browser.
So what are you supposed to do? Reddit could have done it, they were essentially already a comment system for links but they decided to spend all of their time and money censoring people instead.
There were browser based comment systems before this one but nobody used them. Finally we have a player with a large enough user base where more people see it, you can't ask for more than that.
GreyGears ago
I would like if there was some not-too-intrusive alert to indicate when a page already has some comment.
Not very ergonomic to have to open the addon on each page to check if there is already a comment section.
Charlez6 ago
This was my vision for it too, so it's a little clunky in its current form.
On the bright side, it has just been released and I expect some really clean and simple integrations coming soon. Already today I saw a guy had written a little script to replace the comment section in YouTube with the Dissenter comments for that page (if comments are disabled).
GreyGears ago
Link to that script ? Because that's pretty much what Dissenter should be anyway.
MrDarkWater ago
Dissenter is another nullifying containment platform that operates to keep the sheep asleep.
GuyIDisagreeWith ago
It's layout is a little too faceBook for me. I don't like all the scrolling.
Other than that it's hilarious.
Corpse_washer ago
Its a great idea if you want to datamine what those think about everything you already lured to gabai because they care about privacy.
Rotteuxx ago
I had the exact same reflection earlier, thanks for posting my thoughts and saving me some typing.
It's a circle jerk extension, nothing else.
It'll never have more users than Gab does so that makes it a very limited audience. I still gave it a shot but afaik I can't install it on Brave for Android.
