Teach children to have thicker skin and not complain, but telling children it's wrong to be offended is dysfunctional. If someone is raping your children you better be offended!!

I think people are mistaking the difference between being offended and becoming angry. No one should ever be offended by anything and you should become angry about many things.

You wouldn't be offended if someone was raping your family member?

My10thaccount ago

I would be angry, anger is different than being offended. At least the way I Define it is because being offended is like being hurt or having hurt feelings because of something someone said. Anger is 100% completely different

Before you get angered you have to be offended.

A strong feeling of displeasure or hostility.

It's just like I said one causes wounded feelings and the other causes hostility so I was absolutely correct

mattsixteen24 ago

If you are angry you have wounded feelings. Being offended leads up to anger. You can't be angry without being offended first. How do you become angry? Something offends you first.

Lets just agree that I'm right. Thanks

Sorry, it doesn't work that way. I'll agree that this argument is somewhat petty over a poor choice of words and this is just a post on voat that not many people care about, but words do matter. I will say that I do understand your point about people getting offended over little things.
