I would say it's not impossible, but unlikely. Basically men and women can only be friend when mutual unattraction exists. When both side don't want to fuck ever, it's possible.
For young men that's hard. As men get older it's a little easier. For women it's harder as they get older as they get less attention and they start to cling to men around them.
