@akto want get a drink in Austin. Will be flying in from Disneyworld this evening. As one of v/Austin moderators just ask if you need anything. As well am chef from that area can steer you to what ever you desire. Mount bonnell, capital, castle hill, tacos anywhere north lamar, taco more is authentic may need to know some Spanish. South side is now CA we don't claim it. Zilker park is meh. Depending on what you like to-do. Got to pterrys. Top notch fried chicken. Plus probably if there sat. Is a local hot rod show. I collect old vws. Austin music scene died a decade ago. Want some true country food easy Hoover's south or threadgills. don't fucking go to Franklin's bbq is a tourist trap imo. 512 go local look it up. Our user base here is not the greatest. East side 6th what ever drug or such you want is at the white horse. Avoid avoid 7th and 35 homebums camp. As well any other tx or Austin area questions please don't hesitate and welcome to my hood.
Hey, I'll just spend a few hours in Austin as a stopover along my route to Dallas. I will probably leave Austin by noon. I wish I could spend more time here but it is what it is. Thank you for the insider info, I'll be sure to keep it in mind today. I really appreciate your offer to grab a drink, given the fact that everyone is busy especially at this time of year. My counteroffer to you: if you ever visit Zürich, Switzerland, let me know and I'll give you a personal tour of the city and buy you a drink too. One thing is sure: I will not be eating at Franklin's bbq today 😉 Thank you.
Hey boss. Nice to see you around these parts. Texas is a great state and amazing place to see a it of our nation. Don’t feel bad about going to Walmart lol.
It is the bastion of American consumerism something people from other places need to see and know what to steer from in their own nations. It is even better that you got to experience the best of all American holidays too.
Thanksgiving I feel is the best because it is a chance for all the family to gather and not feel pressure to anything. Just catch up and have good times. Well that and I love 4th of July because gunpowder.
If you can get some sweet tea as it is a southern staple to long life here in America
Hey, @Atko, nice to see you here. I came over on the first reddit abandonment, 4+ years ago, when you posted about your new site (tentatively titled whoaverse) on r/conspiracy. Thanks for giving us this beautiful playground for free speech.
Early on, there was a store here that sold Voat t-shirts. I would really like to get my hands on one, and I'm sure others would too. What do we have to do to make this happen?
Thank you for staying through all the ups and downs we had over the years. I may have a few shirts back in Switzerland. I'd be happy to give them (ship them) to you if the size/color is ok. I should be back home in 3-4 days. I'll note this in my calendar and send you a pm with details. This would be free of charge.
Never been to Canada but it is on my shortlist. If I go, I'll probably rent an rv and enjoy the nature, but I'll have to do my research first. This is unlikely to happen before next year, but who knows.
Thank you, there is nothing better than having a local give you a few tips here and there. I'll keep you in mind, may just take you up on that. Very kind of you to offer that.
Yeah but word is Ontario is selling moldy weed, then Quebec can't even keep up with the demand. Leave it to the government to reinforce the black market.
Aren't you that guy that once figured out how to work the claw game without any tokens? Or are you the guy that ate 7 tins of ravioli in less than 30 minutes?
"Hitler is one of the greatest men, the old trust him, the young idolize him. It is the worship of a national hero who has served his country. …Within a few years, Adolf Hitler will emerge from the hatred which surrounds him as one of the most significant figures that ever lived." - @Atko
Just visiting as I had some time off between jobs. Was really lucky to get to experience my first thanksgiving and enjoy amazing pumpkin soup, do a level 9 tour of Johnson Space Center in Houston (including ISS GC), see the grand canyon and a whole other bunch of stuff. Your country is truly beautiful.
Well since you inspired me to found the site I did in a round about way, so I have to say thank you, I cannot thank you enough for founding voat. We have a team on poal.co that I am pretty sure made puttitout get off his ass. So thank you and you are welcome. If you guys ever want to talk feature or anything else chat.poal.co feel free to come and talk with us. Also fuck your couch.
Happy to hear that. The internet needs more places like voat. I wish you would also open source your site (I could not find a link to your repo) as next generations would likely something from your code. Keep it up and stay true to free speech. Happy thanksgiving.
Yeah, thats on my to do list. phab.poal.co is live, but it still needs a few setup things before I can actually upload the code to it. So many things to do. I'll get to it all... eventually. Thanks for the response.
Sorry 😊 Also... I went to wallmart too. Just to see what the fuss was about. I also needed peanut butter pretzels for a friend (which I am yet to find) 🤔

Sorry, no fez and no moustache here, but yes, I was born in Bosnia, I was 9 when the war started, survived 4 years in a city under siege (Gorazde). Read "safe area Gorazde" from Joe Sacco (I met him, btw) for more info.
Yeah we had kids from Yugoslavia at my (Canadian) high school during the war. I remember hearing a recording of the Nato jets someone made for some reason. Basically whenever there's a war somewhere, they send all the kids to Canada. Bunch of quiters we're becoming.

Happy Thanksgiving mate, we miss you!
Maybe one of these days once the War for European Freedom is over all the Goats can have a reunion and meet each other in real life.
Be safe!

Visit the Alamo. It will help you understand why America needs borders.

Thank you, I was there yesterday. I got upset because some people did not respect the "silence" sign and the history of that place.

Thanks, you too.

Very cool, thanks!
If you get the opportunity in Texas, check out the fried catfish and/or Texas BBQ. Be safe!

John Mueller on the east side used to be one of the best and I had personally recommended it (https://www.texasmonthly.com/list/the-50-best-bbq-joints-in-the-world/john-mueller-meat-co/) but that location is closed. I have heard that he opened a new place in Georgetown, but I can't guarantee that or vouch for it.
Elbower_of_Quants ago
Sure, but Voat is a strange place which means it is likely an NSA honeypot... why get all fancy about it?
Atko ago
I have never been approached by any gov agencies/representatives in all this time since voat went online, but it does not hurt to always stay alert.
Ina_Pickle ago
Thanks Atko! Hope you have fun on your trip.
