Don't trust him. He is from a collective group on voat (and reddit). Here they're called SBBH, or SoapBoxBanHammer. They have a subverse by the same name, but many of the group do not interact with the sub. They are still the same collective. They employ alt accounts frequently and they're extremely active during transitionary periods like this.
They want to manipulate the incoming users. They are doing a good job so far.
My suspicion is much of this drama about /v/theawakening is manufactured drama caused by them, and they are the ones whistleblowing to gain approval from the incoming redditors. They are trying to steer the ship in a cultural sense, and they've been doing so for years here.
If you want to learn more, visit /v/realProtectVoat (an alternative to their /v/ProtectVoat). If you have any questions I'll spend a few minutes further describing their operations.
Start here. It's really a long story, they've plagued us for years. Voat once had a chat feature, these guys set up a bot to spam homosexual erotica text. It went on for over a week and eventually, rather than address the problem, the admin shut down the service.
SBBH's prominent members are @kevdude, @crensch, @gabara, @ExpertShitposter, and @lordbeatlejuicethe1. They have hundreds of accounts, an exhaustive list will eventually be released but it's no small task. If you keep your nose to the ground for long enough you'll see it more clearly. Try to find information about a user who once held a mod position here @she, they were friends with her. She tried to force heavy censorship on a default subverse here (forget which) before she was eventually removed. Voat has had many scandals and these guys have been involved in all of them, even one regarding a fucking pedophile @hecho.
My delivery might need work, but at least I'm trying to inform people. Not many others make the effort, they just let people live with wool over their eyes.
I've been here a few years and still don't know wtf is going on with them. One side or another is apparently underhanded and malicious, but researching users, their comment histories, and their connections with other uses is far beyond my interest level. Accepting that there are a bunch of trolls in the mix, is my solution.
Get Amateur Voat Enhancements and you can tag users, among several other features. It's helpful to keep track of who says what.
AVE only works if they don't constantly change primary accounts... these people are constantly farming/creating new handles. They snuck in several during the recent migration, and they do it every migration.
I think it goes beyond simple trolling, but I can see why someone might embrace an apathetic perspective for sanity's sake.
His buddy or alt made this crazy rant attacking @srayzie and the other mods at GA. I agree it's way beyond trolling. Everything about the "ban" and subsequent move to voat, then splitting off to 8chan, seems like a planned op for some nefarious purpose. You could spend 16 hours per day following all the traces and connections between the different accounts, but that's not how I want to spend my days.
I actually suspect srayzie because of her interaction with several of their accounts, as you say you don't want to do... I think you should at least scrutinize her a little more heavily before making a final decision, you don't have to study the entire voat user base.
For whatever reason, just got a comment mention from searchvoat for my above comment. Not sure what that's about, but gabera (sp) was at the top of that link accusing you of being a troll. It just gets too convoluted to try to untangle. If people say rational things that sound true to me, I'll generally agree whether they're a 'troll' or not.
There's no final decision on anyone here, really. I've disagreed on something or other with most everyone here.
Gabara is one of their most active users, I assure you I'm not a troll. My comment history is evident of that.
Tallest_Skil is one of their accounts trying to imitate @SaneGoatiSwear, not sure you remember him but he was a character. Tallest is an inconsistent personality from what I've seen

Reddit faggots don't even understand what Q is fighting for.
Q never posted to reddit for a REASON.

There's about a million of them in that post. And all their mods seem to be back.

Speaking of suspect users, I used to think tallest skil was some kind of crazy troll, then ran across some of his comments like those.
