It's much easier to just track users search history, purchase history, and physical presence. That's why Google, Amazon, Facebook, Reddit, and all the similar major companies have a freeflow of government/corporate money and assistance. It's also why anytime they're questioned, there's a blind eye turned to any of their transgressions or a slap on the wrist at best. That money is pretty easy to track if you've been following anyone with a conspiratorial mind over the last few years. Hell, I remember being MUCH younger and always wondered why I kept seeing the founders of Google hanging out with the leaders of world governments; even when Google was much more in its infancy. It always struck me as strange.

Meanwhile, we have a site here that crashes hard every time there's an influx of traffic, where many people lurk and rarely contribute, and a handful of people keeping it running. Blackops money is rather endless. The real people who hold the truth on the internet have sites that look like they haven't been updated since 1998. Why? There's no money in it. Most of us don't have the time to contribute properly; we all have real careers and jobs and families to tend to. We just come here to vent and search for truth in a sea of controlled lies. I'm not saying for certain that Voat isn't controlled, but it sure as hell doesn't behave like the rest of the clearly controlled information distribution sites.
