Shouldn't Iodized salt still prevent this? It's not like it's vanished from the market, Morton's Iodized Salt is seemingly as available as ever.

Himalayan Pink Salt contains 80+ minerals. Morton's Iodized Salt is empty trash that is fortified with iodine. Yes you'll get iodine from it, but that's about it. Why not use Himalayan Pink Salt and supplement with iodine? get the best of both worlds. Also magnesium and vitamin D are worth looking into. Tastes great too. I've heard lots of people say salt on watermelon tastes good, but salt on apple is way better.

I've found I prefer salt + granny smith.

I like to practically drown my raw steak with salt before I warm up the grill. Cover in oil, smother in salt, and a bit of fresh pepper. Toss on hot grill until cooked.

I mean, if I'm just throwing salt in something I'm cooking, I'm cool with regular salt. If that salt is going to be used like seasoning though... I've got some from the north Irish sea that is just killer on some good home made bread with Irish butter.

Sodium chloride is the same regardless if it comes from the Himalayas, Utah or North Irish sea. Yes sea salt is different than artificial table salt. But the whole "my sea salt comes from x" is just a bullshit hipster soyboy marketing ploy.

If you pull the cock out of your mouth, you'd know that sea salt is flavored by other minerals in it. Your tastes buds may not work anymore from the salty dick you've had in your mouth though, so I'd suggest at least rinsing it with something other than pabst blue ribbon. Maybe a good hipster craft brew.

Basically, sea salt doesn't contain any iodine, which means that you lose the "benefit" of iodinized table salt.

"Iodine" was only put in Salt to prevent caking.
