Pizzagate was far too obscure and abstract for public consumption. I think it was drove into the rocks intentionally to discredit the alt right. It sounds too far fetched for the average person to pay it heed.

The difference is, if you run for public office, you should be serving the public in general, not your family and supporters only, and you certainly shouldn't be using public funding to "look after your family and supporters."
