You'll reject it all, feeling like a holy crusader of legend in a world of heretics. You'll feel like a champion of virtue here, probably for quite some time. Your armour, and the steed you ride on, will be worn ragged as they are constantly used as an immune-system for your mind. You'll fight constantly, and win constantly, here on Voat; your beliefs and knowledge will stay intact, to your great satisfaction. Nobody can tell you that you're wrong - of course you're not wrong. You know what's true and what isn't, and no right-wing, hateful nutjobs are going to change your mind.
You start to see things, and hear things that don't quite add up - not on Voat, but on your TV, with your friends, on the radio, in the movies, at family get-togethers, at your job. These things will be things that are just a little bit wrong. Not too bad, really. Maybe the reporter just made a mistake? Maybe your family was misinformed by a chain email, no biggie.
You hear a news anchor speak about an event that you happen to know something about. You'll listen as the anchor proudly claims something about the event you know to be false. Wait, how did you know about the event? Why would you think you know better than the MSM news?
The radio jockey you listen to on your way to work is going to weigh in on a recent happening that you're interested in, so you turn the volume up. As the jockey is explaining the situation, you find yourself having to process some of what he lays out as factual context for his upcoming commentary. Why are you having to process this? Didn't you know all about the event already? Why is some of this news? Wait, it didn't happen that way, you saw the videos people uploaded; they all showed something happening that your jockey is not properly describing. Are you mistaken? Did your eyes deceive you? And what about the comments those posting said, were they all lying?
You'll be shootin' the shit with friends when one of them brings up the latest BLM news, and how the latest poster-child for BLM is a paragon of virtue; you'll wonder why your friend is saying this when the rap sheet for this individual, which includes domestic violence, theft, and armed robbery, is public knowledge. Wait, you never heard anything about that on the radio or news on TV, did you? Should you bring it up in front of your friends, or just let it go? Let it go. If it was from Voat, maybe it's not true.
In a conversation with your brother, he'll talk about how someone in DC is a huge racist, and hates everyone that isn't white. You'll recall that this person received some Rosa Parks award for helping the inner-city and underprivileged; you'll recall that this person fought to allow blacks into places they weren't allowed; there was a list of things you'll recall seeing here, and you even took the time to look some of them up to verify the authenticity, hoping to not make the same mistake you did earlier with your friends - the list of things were all true. You'll wonder if a person could change so much since those things happened. Surely you're just not seeing something your brother sees, right?
You'll casually mention the latest terrorism happening overseas in the break room with your co-workers, with the only reaction being their blank stares in your direction. Do they not know? Wasn't this all over the media? A bomb went off in (insert civilized country), why isn't this news? Is terrorism really part and parcel of living in a civilized country? No, surely not... is there something wrong with your memory? Did terrorism happen all along, or did this event not actually happen?
Going back to your friends, you'll hear about the latest attempted mass-shooting, only to find out that the one they're talking about was 4 mass-shootings ago. Inquiring about the more recent ones, they'll wonder what you're talking about, and ask if you're just making shit up. "Hey man, you've been a little odd lately, everything OK?"
No, everything's fucking not OK, is it?
You turn on the TV and see lies and propaganda, so you turn it off, and log on to Facebook. You see FB news, and you know 3 of the top 5 stories are horseshit - but hey, that's FB, and you want to see what your friends and loved ones have to say.
What. The. Fuck. Are your loved ones saying? Is that... really what they think is going on? It's not! It's a lie! You saw the video! Why are they saying (politician) groped a girl when you saw the video they're referencing and no such thing happened? That image is doctored! They have to know!
You tell them. You lay it out for them in very simple terms. You link the video itself, and tell them what minute and second this event supposedly happened. You take a screenshot and put it side-by-side with the doctored image. You do all this, and they ask you to stop posting on their wall. You're triggering them, and they don't appreciate being attacked.
Despite your confidence in both your intellect and how open-minded you are, you fail to understand why someone would want to continue being wrong. It makes no sense, right? So you try again.
Some friends, and a few family members later, you finally decide to stop. They all told you to piss off. You're not even sure if some of them will ever speak to you again. Do they think you're lying to them?
There's nothing more you can say, nobody seems to want to hear the truth. Why? Why won't they listen, when you're going out of your way to lay out the facts and ensure that even a child could connect the dots?
You don't remember grey hair growing there... when did that happen? Are you eating enough? Are you getting enough sleep? Look at those bags under your eyes. You're reminded of Tyler Durden for some reason.
As you drift through your days, you hear buzzwords you know are just the latest fad in virtue-signalling. You hear buzz-phrases that are so absurd they make your head hurt. You hear the many facets of a narrative you know to be lies, spoken as if undeniably the truth. TV, radio, movies, friends, family, co-workers, strangers you pass by, copy - of a copy - of a copy.
You don't even notice how the world around you has transformed since you first came here. Once bright and vivid colours are now just various shades of grey, all swirled around in a monochromatic hell where nothing makes sense. Up is down, East is West, and the image in your mind of your previous self resembles a bad guy getting turned into Swiss cheese in an 80s action flick.
You have no idea when you crawled out of the husk of your previous self, but realize you've been stuck in a perpetual barbed wire crawl ever since.
"Why won't anyone listen?" "Why doesn't anyone care?" "Why did this happen to me?"
"Who did this to me?"
Voat did. Wait... no, that can't be right. Voat offered you the redpills, and you rejected them! You fought against them and won, right? They never pierced your armour! YOU HELD YOUR BELIEFS when those stupid, ignorant bigoted, racist, xenophobic, KKK, skinhead, Nazi, retarded, right-wing, blue-collar, hateful, fascist, anti-American assholes SAID YOU WERE WRONG! You won!

For the most part, I suspect they do know. They know there is a carefully curated facade that has been supported by the "deep state" structure that we can never, will never see. Maybe on some level there is a capitulation to something so overwhelming. Maybe they're right. They're choosing a less genuine life, but that same structure that enslaves us also creates the fabric of day to day life. Without it, you have a great deal to figure out on your own. I'm not sure what good it does us to be aware of how small we are, how vast the landscape of bullshit is, turning people into grist. What does it change, to know what we do? Maybe we'd have been better off with canned beer and American Idol.
Crensch ago
Without knowing a better word for it, I'll now coin The Cypher Conundrum.
Until (((they))) win. Utterly. Then that canned beer gets a little more expensive; the American Idol more laced with commercials. Suddenly you can't afford both and still pay your rent. Then you can't afford either. Then you hock your belongings to make rent.
Then you have no home. You live in your car.
Then you get your car repossessed.
The Bolshevik genocide happened. Every communist country has starved. Women being forced to prostitute themselves just to afford food, the men being forced into hard labor to afford a soggy cardboard box shack to sleep in.
If you truly had the ability to continue on without becoming an unwilling, unhappy economic slave, you might have a point. As it stands, putting your head in the sand will wind up with you tossed in jail for wrongthink, replaced by sandnigger savages, and likely raped or murdered by the enemies your supposed voted-on public servants invited in - on your dime.

What do you suggest in the face of something so vast? Been thinking about moving to some bass ackwards state that doesn't have much going on, like west Virginia or Arkansas. Wyoming.
Crensch ago
Good choices, for sure. Land, sustainability, both gasoline and manual generators. LOTS of guns and ammo.
Plan SHTF with neighbors and family. Research local media personalities, politicians, judges, law enforcement to find out which need avoided, or taken care of in SHTF situations.
Start your own inside-group of pro-American people to run for such offices, apply for such jobs, or training to take the jobs/positions when the opportunity presents itself. Meet with your group at least every week to go over progress.
Form your own citizens' court separate from "the law" that has become so perverted that you need money to get justice for crimes done to you, and money can buy innocence.
The above are orders of magnitude more difficult as you go down. #3 is what the Jews have done to us; don't let them in your group.

Very interesting, Sir. This is a place where you can follow many taboo threads of thought as deep as you'd care to. There is an undeniable orchestration beneath the surface of things, and you can come here and try to piece it together, or throw the whole puzzle away if you like. This place is a privilege, an amazing resource for free thought and choice.
Thank you for all the enlightening conversations, Sir. Been caught up in reality through the summer, am looking forward to being back here amongst the goats. ♡♡♡

The Awakening. Excellent- I'm going to share this on other platforms if you don't mind.
Crensch ago
I named this the "Descent of the Goat" because I wanted to stop at the punch line, and hope to write a "Rise of the Goat" or something later.
Crensch ago
I don't mind at all, glad you like it!

Thank you- gonna share it. Really well done.

@kevdude @Disappointed @Empress @Artofchoke @Hey_Sunshine
Does this more or less match anyone else's experience? I was responding to someone in /v/introductions and just didn't stop writing, so I made a post about it.
Didn't get much traction, but wanted at least a little feedback. Thanks in advance, and no worries if you'd prefer not to read it.
Tl;dr: Voat version of "I just wanted to shitpost and attack racist Nazis, 4chan, but now I'm you."
Hey_Sunshine ago
I should reread this in the morning because in all honesty, voat is one of the places that made me re access my own beliefs. Although this
rings especially true... it's maddening.
HOW CAN THEY NOT SEE THE WRITING FOR WHAT IT SAYS!? It's like extrapolation is impossible if it's not spoon fed to them in 140 characters or less
Crensch ago
Thanks a ton for the once-over, and maddening is a great word for it.
Hey_Sunshine ago
I'm happy to oblige, I'll be sure to take a closer look at it in the AM.
Disappointed ago
I'll have to wait till tonight to read it all. I don't agree with everything said on Voat but agree with a lot of it. The difference is I've felt that way all my life and while I try to keep an open mind about most things I don't see much coming in to convince me that I have things wrong. I'd guess the majority here is younger than me though.

Thanks for your time and input, sir!
