I get it: @Crensch naturally cares more about his pet projects than he does about the lofty principle of free speech on voat.

Still, anyone with character would be embarrassed by this.

@smallpond is a user that fought to have rEddit style mods kept in power here. The users revolted against this, and now he and his crew are too busy whining about users silencing them to realize that rEddit mods silencing someone is actual censorship, and infinitely worse.

Then again, they WANT their mods in power, so to them it's not so bad.

I have never advocated for reddit-style mods on voat.

From memory, the closest I've come is saying that voat, with it's CCP-based gagging of dissenting opinions is comparable to reddit in terms of the resulting suppression of free speech. You might strongly disagree with that, but it is clearly not advocating for a move towards reddit-style mods.

Voat can do much better than reddit, and much better than it is now, with almost zero debate when it comes to hivemind opinions.

I accept how valuable voat is in providing a forum where you can honestly express yourselves - I do not want to change that. However, with dissenting voices almost completely absent, you have no real excuse for the heavy censorship. I'm advocating incremental change: let enough normies in so that there's a real debate and you can learn from and improve one another.
