I am a member on tons of private torrent trackers. Virtually all of them stay open due to member donations. With that being said there are two subgroups. Those that gather money for server costs and those that run their trackers like a business. Those that run their tracker like a business endlessly bitch and moan about server costs and how they are going to shut down. Whereas the honest ones try to avoid pestering people for donations. I've been here for a while and I wouldn't classify any of these disclosures as e-begging. If anything I think it looks like @Puttitout told us about the financial problems at the last second because he was looking for an out.

Donbuster ago

If anything I think it looks like @Puttitout told us about the financial problems at the last second because he was looking for an out.

I agree with this statement. That being said, if he wants an out, he needs to up and tell us, and figure out a proper transition plan rather than leaving the site to die. Provided she's willing, and has the expertise (not that I know she does, no clue what her career is in), he could easily put, say Cynabuns in charge, and know that the site is in good hands...

WhiteRonin ago

Interesting experiences. Hmm i don't think k putt is doing this as a bad thing but something does feel amiss. It could be a way out.

caprep ago

What is the biggest cost right now? Bandwidth? Memory? CPU? Disk?

If we knew the biggest issue we could focus on that first.

Is Putt running the same sized instances all the time, or scaling up / down instances as traffic demands it?

Suggestions:

Bandwidth - Make all images WebP and save ~25% of image bandwidth right away.

Bandwidth idea 2 - Minify the HTML. There are a lot of long class names in the code and extraneous spaces. I'm sure we could easily get a 20% bandwidth savings from the main HTML.

Disk - Take old posts, put them into a torrent and delete them from voat. If people want them they can host them.

CPU - Most of the visitors probably aren't logged in. Why not compile a static HTML page every 30 seconds and save it to disk. When a non-logged in visitor views the main page give them the stored one. Same with comments on popular articles. The page doesn't need to be up to the second

Memory - Most all of the suggestions above should help, especially the pre-compute option.

There are a number of quick things we can do to relive the pressure, we just need to know where to aim our autism.

WhiteRonin ago

Yep, yep and more yeps ...

prairie ago

A nice aspect of seeing costs is seeing how much some features really cost, and being able to decide that they aren't worth it and choose to forego them.

WhiteRonin ago

So very true!

illuminalto ago

Not a transparent request.

For all we know his sig is slipping into an oxy habit and taking him with her. We have nothing to go on here except the words he posted - and just like the rest of the internet we can believe or we can not believe.

I want voat to keep going, but if he's going to call on the user base to fund it, then he should to come out with total costs top to bottom instead of leaking us bits of things to see.

If that ~$6k is the real number, then he can either turn voat into a business (which I guess he owns it now since atko signed over) or he can do exactly what atko did and hand it to someone else. Who? I don't know.

But yeah, the sudden "we're sinking" is not a good sign on hands on management.

Monthly / Bi-weekly checkups, with I don't know, changing the front page ad to infographic would be helpful - but we didn't even get that.

Something stinks.

WhiteRonin ago

I have no problem if he is planning to start a business and hire on help to work on voat and other side projects with money raised by voat. The thing is that it would be nice if he just said it )IF that is what he is thinking). I can see a lot more people pitching in too if he did.

$6k... I just can't figure out where it is all going towards ... unless he is behind in payments ...

illuminalto ago

rant:

The announcement is both sudden and vague. Despite the post length, the palpable information is scant and leans heavily on emotional coercion and a real sense of loss.

His 2 best options are "we need an angel" and "close the site".

Sorry to sound like a fucking 14 year old twat here but. like, what the fuck?

Nowhere in there does he even say "maybe we can just put the servers at 25% load to get costs down for a couple of months until we find new capital". Shit, host the fucking site on angelfire if that's even still a thing or some other dirt cheap shit host and we'll all be happy to communicate at 56k speeds, who gives a shit?

The options are non-strategic, no "long game" in there as far as foresight or projection. Not. Good.

Hats off to the single man out there trying to manage all this madness - but clearly he's stating he can't do it on his own, and instead of the several other options we could have - such as:

We are given an either or.

There are lots of other options to be thought of. Will they be discussed?

WhiteRonin ago

I wish I had alts to upvoat you more!

Do you know any investors for real? Or just saying that if needed with voats name value that finding them should be relatively easy?

illuminalto ago

Do you know any investors for real?

Yes!

Am I excited about the level of attention and stroking it would bring? Not especially!

How am I supposed to get a group of red-pilled assholes (and rightfully so, niggers) to honestly put out money?

I mean, honestly, I would have the effin "give a stranger gold" up right they fuck away. If people really hated it, I'd would go away, but at least do something, right? Because people enjoy the interaction! Even if the interaction is "Hey I'm not participating in this bullshit gold trophy bullshit" - and then it gets removed as a feature. HEY - FUCKIN HO, we decided SOMETHING as people. Next thing. Next Fucking Thing.

Hard to imagine how you could gamify voat a bit. I suppose the voat point system is a bit gamified itself already, but some sort of contribution mechanism to push people to donate. Keep track of other peoples GOOD DEEDS. LET'S REINFORCE SOME FUCKING GOOD DEEDS. It'll be simple classical human conditioning after that, monkey seeing, and all.

Get people excited for more. The concept of progress. Even if it is a novel feature or update. Ask the community? Ask them everything?

Who has the ideas????

WhiteRonin ago

Gamification or functionality. I'm sure people will tell you what they want and what is fair.

I'm seriously thinking of doing a fork.

illuminalto ago

I'm seriously thinking of doing a fork.

Noice! A little bit of work, but honestly I see some financial promise in voat or similar community. I seriously don't want to buy it, but I don't want to see it go. If he's going to "close" it, then who's to stop us from getting the domain and relaunching? The propositions are silly.

I just don't understand where his head is at, but he could just have a tough life paying rent like everyone else and not be able to handle the burden end of webmaster/owner.

WhiteRonin ago

I didn't consider buying voat since it's easy enough to start fresh especially if voat closes. I figure this funding round brought in at least 15-20k. 900 posts $10-20 on average -- bad metrics but it's gonna be close I bet.

I doubt he'd let the domain go inactive so it's buying from him.

a single dev could pound out the majority of voat within a month. I can do that on a php framework. The other stuff, like jQuery if done by help would close off dev time within 2 months.

If I had to change out to say golang or node.js and had a helper we could still match that time frame. A 3rd person would guarantee results.

Get a smartass who is good with copy and a some graphics ... Bang running out the door.

This is why I'm seriously considering this.

pushthis ago

Queso, voats budget and costs is questionex and gou wanna expand via capitalism. I gotta better idea. Get free developers with a git. Sell voat merch on the dark webz. Work towards oneday being a server/client enabled network so no real hosting perse is needed... You know revolutionize shit.

Whiteronin, i got no problem with you but your roadmap is off. Stay free. We need no pulling in of new accts via advertisments. Subculture is what subculture does.

No payout. Fuck that logic. Info = free. The day voat is decentralized and coded by the world for free will be a bigger victory than twitter or fakeoidbook

Amazons cloud, pervasive computing it was called... Is the same tech in the cia's machines.. If you gotta kindle it can be ssh'n a cia server without you knowing.. Remember the free 3g they offered?

WhiteRonin ago

I have absolutely no problem with your roadmap beyond the fact that even reddit didn't follow through with their own tangent ... getting people on board who can start the base code isn't that easy, which is why I am advocating a quick fix and then spend the time to work on the version that you envision.

IF you don't use ads, you could have an off site that linked to affiliates like amazon that people could access easily and monthly since so many people shop on amaon now ... the only issue is if amazon would sell out that affiliate or not.

WhiteRonin ago

@butthole_empress will let you know!

WhiteRonin ago

I'm gonna tin foil hat here ... it could be a catch up on debt and bail ... possibly ...

WhiteRonin ago

I'm all for him trying to turn this into a business and then a payout. But throwing out 6k and not expecting a user base being as based and red pilled like voat to go ok ... And not being transparent like you said is rather strange.

Dark_Shroud ago

I was hoping Brave would have their ad revenue sharing system up and running by now. I would only browse using them and giving tips for Voat that way.

WhiteRonin ago

Wow! That's interesting! I'm gonna have to download that.

Dark_Shroud ago

Yup, Brave is Chromium based and run by a former Firefox/Mozilla guy.

I use a combination of Edge, Brave, & Vivaldi for my various web activity.

Vivaldi is also Chromium based and by the former Opera CEO.

WhiteRonin ago

I totally forgot about the opera fork. Thanks for the reminder. I'm gonna take a look at brave first though. I'm on my phone and want to try it on desktop first.

elcob32 ago

Nobody likes .net so we go to another language

For the record I like .Net, if there is a way I can contribute to the Voat code base, I'm on board.

WhiteRonin ago

voat has a github repo ... nobody has been interested in it, it seems ...

I've actually heard boat loads of good shit about .net and I have been on and off on learning it but just too spread out to pick up another language unless it means I'll be able to turn into a monetary advantage. I'm a M$ hater but I will admit that when they do good they do good!

elcob32 ago

I didn't say I'm an M$ fan. I develop in Mono on Linux, but M$ bought out Xamarin so thats M$ now too. Anyway, I've been using it since .Net was in beta. I can do pretty much anything in C#.

Dark_Shroud ago

I was just looking into Xamarin. Any idea if there is demand for it at all?

elcob32 ago

Not really. Most companies writing .Net code use VS and insist that their employees do as well. I have a small web development firm of my own, so I make it work. Don't get me wrong though Xamarin Studio and Mono are both incredible IDEs.

WhiteRonin ago

I don't care even if you were because I've grown past those silly games.

I am sort of envious since I should have made the move years ago to C# since I'd be making way more money than now.

elcob32 ago

The money is why I learned. There were way more jobs for C# devs than any other languge in my area at the time.

WhiteRonin ago

A perfectly good answer! Bravo and smart as fuck to do that! Java and .net are the local go to languages nearby me. However, I'm a php guy ... for the better and for the worse!

elcob32 ago

Ouch. There is a lot of php out there, but not much money in it.

WhiteRonin ago

There is and you are correct! There are a lot of jobs out there but the pay isn't that good. I could easily walk away with 20-30k more IF I knew java or .net. UGH!

Knights_of_the_14 ago

Give Scala a try, it's a functional programming language that you can also write as normal Java as it all compiles down to java bytecode. It's got a strong growing community and a good web framework, easy to learn too.

Also jobs are growing for it as well

WhiteRonin ago

I'll take a look at that. Thanks!

Donbuster ago

Yes. Thank you. I've been asking for this for a while now. Sadly, things have gotten worse, not better, since atko resigned

1moar ago

Beat me by about an hour.

Interested in monthly bandwidth and storage especially. I have some resources.

WhiteRonin ago

Lol, not trying to go for the big I'm first but rather want to see some transparency. Even if he wants to start a company which I think k would be smart!

AnmanIndustries ago

"a business is like jumping out of an airplane without a parachute. In mid air, the entrepreneur begins building a parachute and hopes it opens before hitting the ground.” – Robert Kiyosaki

Most people are not business people, thus they do not know how to build the parachute, even though they have the plane.

Turnip_Time ago

So what you're saying is that the best way to run a business is by first joining the army where they pack your parachute for you before you jump.

AnmanIndustries ago

When you join the army, your employee is the government, therefore, you do not own the business. But, in china, it is common to take someone else s parachute and jump out of your own plane.

WhiteRonin ago

Cash flow quadrant :-) live by that code!

Still think good ol'Roberto is but of con artist but he did have those 2 good books which alone make him ok by me!

AnmanIndustries ago

Every time you buy something you don't need or will stop enjoying after a few days, you have been conned. He made money and he did it well. Rich Dad is a great book and I always give it to young people as a starting point. Using those principles he just made more money. He is a BEST SELLING AUTHOR, not just an AUTHOR after all. Which is what is happening here.

WhiteRonin ago

Lol, I've always loved that comment.

Other books: Napoleon Hill -- think and grow rich, Dale Carnegie -- how to influence people and make friends and what was that other one ... something master mind something something maybe it was another Hill book ...

I also do recommend the Art of War by Sun Tsu for certain understandings.

AnmanIndustries ago

Yeah, it's one of my favourites from the book.

[cough]

https://voat.co/v/businessforpeople/1092685

Youre thinking of "Think and grow rich" I believe. Which was mostly Carnegie.

Gone over the Art of war many times. You're not looking at a beginner here. But I am not up there just yet either.

WhiteRonin ago

Lol, that is the book. Chapters 10 and 11 (master mind and sexmutation) really stood out for me.

another lol, for probably having read the same books about the same number of times ;-)

AnmanIndustries ago

Master mind stuck with me. I have tried to find my own mastermind, but in the end I couldnt find anything that truly sat within my own values. So I started my own, but all that happened was that it turned into a business partnership sort of thing with people that I liked. Not very big, is intimate, but I still feel like that its not really a group of people I can freely bounce my ideas around. The sexmutation thing bothered me a little. In some ways I can see how it is relevant and almost applicable, but if you are using your hormones and natural biology to push forward, you will suffer when those things are no longer prevalent. I do not expect my empire to take off until I am 45 or 50. I will peak at 60 and ready to hand over at 70. While my wife is smoking hot and I am a great example of a man, those driving forces will decrease over time.

From those books I branched out into practical knowledge. Mostly in business management and market trading. The thirst for knowledge from them killed off my desire to read fiction, but I am not saddened by this. Always improving myself, being better. Sounds like we could be friends, if this wasnt the internet.

WhiteRonin ago

Or if the stars in your area weren't in the wrong locations! Southern Cross ... hmmm ... I've got Orion in the winter! ;-)

I totally stopped reading fiction ... netflix is my only binge for that. I built a carpc because I had too many audio books that I wanted to listen to. I used to have a huge library of various business to self help topics on hand all the time.

The master mind doesn't have to be local. it's just having a group of people to through ideas at which is important. Wifey is still too young to really trust me and thinks she doesn't need my advice ... lol ... kids ;-)

I get the sexmutation part because if you don't have a steady stream (even if it's blocked off at home) your mind will wander and consider who to get "some" instead of focusing on money / business matters. Or at least that was my take on it. It's been about 6-7 years since I read that book.

AnmanIndustries ago

Master of Orion 2 was a great game. Honestly location is irrelevant. The internet is just shit and full of people made of it. Im a bit like that too. No time for uselessness makes you a bit of an arsehole.

USB sticks full of books and music. I just rotate the books when I've heard them in the car. I also can plug in aux plugs into my cars so I can just use my phone or tablet or whatever I want. Audiobooks are great.

"Wifey is still too young to really trust me and thinks she doesn't need my advice" This raises a lot of questions. But I feel a bit sorry for you. My wife is my business partner and in many ways she is more ruthless than me. She is very Machiavelli Prince though and lacks some finer points in this regards.

Well, that is what a wife is supposed to be for. Its been a while since I read it too, but I was under the impression that you were to take that 'energy" and direct it to money / business matters. Eh. Whatever.

WhiteRonin ago

I was just cracking a joke about the location.

I need to get a usb stick together again. I've just been to busy and a little to lazy to do it. I've been listening to talk show radio and been trying to catch up on American culture that I have missed out on for over 20 years.

Oh wifey isn't stupid and she for example just knows that a business takes at least 3 years to be profitable ... I have no clue where she learned that it wasn't at her school for sure. It's more like she hasn't had age to give her wisdom yet. I'm way older than her. She is like your wife though is very crude and rude when it comes to making money decisions outside of shopping for shoes! lol You guys seem to have it together which is awesome!

As for the sexmutation, I'm pretty sure it was more about being focused on other things just chasing tail and trim which is the lost energy part rather than the actual "energy" part of it. I could be wrong though, too.

AnmanIndustries ago

JOKES ARE FOR THE FEEBLE....Or something.

American culture.... Sounds.... ,.. Great.... Yeah.. Do you honestly think its important to catch up? Its mostly manufactured really.

Old american, goes to asia, gets a young wife, she likes to buy shoes. It sounds like some sort of movie but I cant quite figure out which. Im sure youve seen this before:

http://www.geekinheels.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/01/average_asian_woman_aging.jpg

My wife is not the shopping shop kind of woman. I think being quite tall she has had that bred out of her, being that pretty much no shops stock clothes her size without her being able to fit inside of it 3-4 times over.

You know, we could just look it up again. But I can't be bothered. Im just shit talking with you and doing some reports.

WhiteRonin ago

No, American culture isn't worth it these days. I'm just missing out on lots of work chat though.

LMFAO! That is soooooooo true! I've seen that too much that it hurts!

You got a tall wife too? Wifey is tall in Japan and is taller than most guys over there being 170. She has the opposite problem now over here. All the clothes are made from the XXXXXXXL crowd and finding small or medium stuff is actually hard now.

Actually, I just graduated uni when I went over and had a blast. So much so that I never really had a reality check until about 4-5 years ago when I realized it was time to start a real career.

AnmanIndustries ago

I reckon I will end up living in Japan at some stage so I've started to think that my children will probably end up with asian partners. I am 6'5" and my wife is 6'2". And yeah... XXXXXXXL every where. Not only does it have to be small, it has to be long. Not easy for her.

Better late than never. A number of authors have said that in regards to the momentum of money. I often think I wasted so much of my life by not getting into this mind set earlier, but really I would have only gained 6-7 years at most. And if you dont mind me asking, what career would yours be?

WhiteRonin ago

I taught English in Japan ... But now sling quick and dirty php code. I'd rather do more heavy based framework coding though.

You are ahead of me ... I'm still trying to catch up to where you are at. I don't regret goofing off though. At least you are on track now.

I'm 6' (183cm) so we are both shorter than y'all. The comment about clothes sizes was in reference to natives here who are prime targets for fph.

AnmanIndustries ago

Why did you go back to the US? Wouldnt staying in Japan been better? Good old PHP. My favourite code. Built little scripts to do stuff in notepad on the fly. I learned it by building browser games in it. Some people tell me I should still do it, but its not profitable these days and would be a full time job. I'd give you a project once I'm done establishing my current businesses. Might as well give browser games a stab again. I already have the plan for a profitable one. Probably be worthless by the time it comes to design.

Yeah, sure. Im ahead of you. maybe half a head. How big is the average persons head? Load of shit those sort of words. If I was really ahead I would have hired you to make that game for me already.

Yeah, we are only a step and half behind america in everything here. I love FPH. I came along with them from reddit, along with my wife. She loves it more than me. Im not a part of the community, I just saw the signs of lack of freedom.

WhiteRonin ago

Japan is a place to live not work. Career advancement is crap and age based so you really can't shine unless you have your own business as a white guy. Then you hit other blocks because you are a white guy. It's also a place to be in your 20's ;-)

My wife is a total shitlord worse than me. I stay away from fph because it made even worse and where I live it's 97% of the population. I could be a monk here because I just don't like jellyrolls.

I bet we would have a hilarious weekend if we got together. Forget sleep we be too pumped just talking shit of all kinds!

Ah, I see what you are saying about sleep. I don't have insomnia but never feel rested so I do micro naps throughout the day. Never thought a out it much thought, just a fact of life.

AnmanIndustries ago

Well, jokes on you. Im eastern european. Im sure im slightly darker than the average japanesian (totally made that word up right now). My wife is wife as hell though. But we are also twice the size of the average japanesian. Maybe we could go on TV shows. I actually already suspected as much in regards to work. I do not like their corporate business culture. Falling asleep being a sign of a hard worker. What a load of shit. I dont think age would matter much. I was never really interested in the cities.

The plague of fat is a market of the end of a civilisation. Be weary. There are a LOT of those markers currently active.

Yeah. Pumped. You want me to have a heart attack? Part of not sleeping (and as I havent told you yet, not breathing), is that you wake up more tired than when you went to bed. Im on the edge of breakthrough medically though. Im on a diet that consists of practically nothing. Showing sign of progress. Maybe after that point we can blow up some kangaroos down here and eat the remains. Very tasty.

I take a 20-30 minute nap every week day. Gotta or I tire real fast. Its pretty shit. I could go over years worth of health research i've done, something might help you. But it would take forever.

WhiteRonin ago

I'm born American but have pure European blood. Both parents are immigrants. I ended up looking like a Hitler youth ... Lol.

With what you did with your property would work up in Hokkaido and yes you could run a b&b and probably end up in the eventually. A Belgium? Dude got on TV for his organic tomatoes .... Lol, he grows other organics too ;-)

Sleep apnea? I probably have that and have freaked out lots of girls apparently ... I'm pretty good a catching a wink at traffic lights ... Totally crazy and scary. I've got tinnitis too yet very healthy otherwise ... Oh well. I don't really tire but it could be a personality thingy. I've got my own office now so I do nap everyday for 10-15 after lunch. (Maybe more????)

I'm up for roo jerky!

AnmanIndustries ago

Aha! I knew it! You were a nazi. My grandfather always tells me about the time when the war started and all the germans were called back to germany. They were constructing a bridge at the time on the Yugoslavian border and then turned around to him and his guys and said "fuck you and tito". They jumped into the river and swam back to the other side and off they went. Im sure they were ok and won the war.

I was thinking more of going around and scaring people. My wife wants to get a shirt that says "Im big in japan" and wants us to sneak up on people doing godzilla poses. She will probably get us killed.

Chronic sinusitis, rhinitis and all the fatigues that go along with high blood pressure. Its difficult, but it helps to build up a lack of tolerance for useless people. Sleeping at the wheel. That may be a very bad thing. Im sure you are aware of that.

We've made mutton jerky. We have the means to make a number of things. Were fancy. (owning a good business has some perks too) Wife wants to jerky roo, but havent had any come up.

WhiteRonin ago

That sounds almost like my grandparents on my mother side.

Gdad built the bridges and Gmom's family was happy to blow them up. Apparently they enjoyed dinner, the good talk and went back to work the next day but made sure the opposite of the family wasn't in the area when the blew up more bridges. So, yeah, I'm probably one of the few on here who does have claims to be being a nazi ... lol and ugh ...

You guys would fit right in with Japan. Not get you killed but filmed a lot ;-)

AnmanIndustries ago

Honestly, nothing wrong with being a nazi. It was either that, or risk being shot on trying to skip the country. That being said, my grandfather did fight against them with the russians, so I guess were enemies now?

I think japanese famous would make me happy. I actually really hate the spot light and being around people, but really, deep down, the japanese are not people.

WhiteRonin ago

A Nazi ... Lol ...I'm only half. The other half is Danish with ties to swedish royalty. Maybe grandad shot my uncle -- I guess that makes us even??!?!

They grow on you ;-) and the sheer amount of bull shit is extremely refreshing!

AnmanIndustries ago

In whole numbers, 0.5 nazi counts as 1 nazi.

You are seriously making me feel anticipation for going to japan. I really can not afford do to so right now, even for a week. I guess I will just sign up to some competitions and hope I grab one, but I will still be doing a lot of work remotely.

WhiteRonin ago

:-p

Need to have a drink over that ;-)

What to do in Japan.

Winter: Sapporo during the snow festival. Slopes are 20-60 minutes away. Prime snow is 3 hours.

Summer:

Sapporo : yosakoi festival

Kyoto: gion festival

Akita: nebuta festival

These periods are peak tourist season but going to Japan and not seeing a festival is highly retarded!

Gion was just fucking nuts. 2 million people crushed in small streets. You both are all so major good views. I was able to move with having my feet on the ground ...

Like Korea, you have to do a Japanese BBQ. Happiness and with beer in a beer garden ... Love love :-)

Japanese castles are awesome so the Osaka Kyoto area is prime! Himeji (the white crane castle) is drivable and the other direction is wakayama castle and the ninja house in Iga. Hattori Hanzo !!

I really miss the festivals ... They are the ultimate right of summer in Japan and it's just lots of fun ... Even little shit towns with just a few shops were always a reason for me to pull over and but expensive food that even not really good tasted great because it's a festival! At one of the local shit hole festivals I lucked out and actually saw a monkey show.

One thing that most people don't mention is New Year's Eve. I would rank it easily with NYC count down in times square but better is waiting for a major shrine to open it's gates at midnight and flowing in with the crowds ... Everybody is basically wasted and Drunk and inside is a festival setup. By a few charms and drink hot sweet sake and drive home :-) yep, major drunks out at night and cops give a shit.

I did get plastered at the beer festival at the Sapporo beer factory and drove home ... Cops made sure we could get on the roads ... Lol. I lived 10 minutes away so ... I was like fuck it! Like every other participants that day :-) hick hick.

I don't drink normally but a beer garden or beer factory festival is more than enough incentive to act like a fool and call your boss and coworkers faggetz and assholes. The next day is always great for laughs because all that stress was let out and remembering who did stopid shit is just part of the day.

AnmanIndustries ago

Thanks for that, you douche bag. Now i definitely do not want to go to Japan. huuuurr.

We actually already decided to go completely off tourist season. Sure I'll probably miss out on most of the festivals and stuff, but we really are introverts so they are not that important to us. Even if they are all full of japanese people.

Sorry to say, I do not drink beer. I've never even been drunk. Tipsy, not drunk. I'm currently not drinking any alcohol due to health reasons.

WhiteRonin ago

Fine, we'll some dingo piss or what ever you drink instead ;-)

Actually, me and wifey hate chatting with people and so we can understand, yet, trust me, the festivals are perfect because people ignore you even more.

Today at Starbucks I had to talk to half the staff ... I'd rather b in Japan where it's a simple thanks on both sides and zero small talk unless you are trying to hit up on them.

AnmanIndustries ago

You know I've never seen a wild dingo. I dont think I've even seen one in a zoo.

I really do want to go there. I need to kick up my japanese lessons. I've gotten a bit slack as I've been changing between 3 cars on a regular basis and they all have different mediums for audio books. I need about 15k (aud) clean before I can even consider saving up money for the trip.

WhiteRonin ago

The lessons would help but hey -- who cares :-)

That's a proper plan! I need to buckle down and start saving money too.

AnmanIndustries ago

I want to be able to make the most of my visit by being able to communicate.

Im not really saving money per se, I need have obligations that need to be completed first, then it should free up some money. So, whats your plan for saving then?

WhiteRonin ago

Ah, makes sense.

Get wifey working ;-) I'll save some cash for sure by doing that!

AnmanIndustries ago

Get her to teach japanese.

WhiteRonin ago

Not enough a crowd here ... I can teach beginners :-)

I also thought she could do Japanese lessons on videos like on those learning sites. Easy money to be made for a course ...

Speaking of which ... You could do the same but more as a prepper thing. Charge $30 and I'm sure people would buy a 10 hour course from you!

She can do it online, except instead of videos or learning sites, shes a tutor. Some people would like that more.

I have other projects that are taking up my time, for the purposes of making money.

You know ... I feel completely stupid right now ... Jesus fuck ... You are right. In a worst case situation she could be a conversation tutor. I totally forgot about this avenue. Thanks !

Always good to have projects that can turn I to cash :-)

How is that a worst case situation? Tutoring is only good for small time income. Unless you start to take classes. One of my friends does maths tutoring and he used to do 1-3 at once.

Well.... all my projects in my life are for the pursuit of cash. It is what I have dedicated myself to for my various life goals.

I got nicknamed c-money by a buddy once because that's all I'd talk about (and picking up birds because I was single) he couldn't stand it ... Lol

Wifey is wanting to open an online shop ... I keep telling her she needs to throw shit at the wall and see what sticks and ten use that money to fund bigger things .... She did say girls in Sydney we're fit and had big boobs ... Lol!

Could he sit on it? (har har har) I pick up birds all the time! I usually put them back in their cages though. I got the nick name space jew. Because when I play space empire games with people I always end up holding up the economy of all my allies because I micromanage the income of my empire.

What sort of online shop? And what does boobs have to do with any of this? Does she want to open a slave trade for sydeny girls? If you can figure out a way to get them out of this country I will help you. Even for minimum wage.

A space Jew and c-money ... Lol!

Lots of birds sat on him. Handsome black English guy. We made a great team! The girls had a choice between black and white and they normally split like that too.

She was thinking jewelry or something like that. However, I bet we could get lots of j-guys would love to have blond waifu's. Hmm, getting them out might be tough ... Wouldn't it???

AnmanIndustries ago

So you cut all the women in half and shared? How nice of you.

..... Is she actually blonde? Or did she dye her hair? Did you find an actual blonde japanese woman? HOW MUCH WILL YOU SELL HER FOR!?

Selling your looks can be quite lucrative. My wife plays that card a lot. She also feigns womanly weakness when she wants to get something in particular. She comes home and always tells me how pathetic people are. I love it.
