We are undoing all bans. We apologize for taking the wrong approach here on Voat - this is a transition for us all, unplanned and unprepared for. We've made mistakes. We are under attack here for this reason and others. Voat members are justifiably pissed at us. Shills are taking the opportunity to spread dissension.

Stay strong. Stay together.

From this point forward, 8ch.net/patriotsawoken will be our default home and ultimate fallback from censoring sites and social media. Any other site is playing by someone else's rules and will be raided and overcome. Voat, if we can ride out this transition phase, may be a soft onboarding for 8chan.

Whatever happens, be sure, Patriots: the home of GreatAwakening is now 8ch.net/patriotsawoken.

Here's the problem with all of this. It doesn't solve the real problem of the downvoat restriction.

Downvoats are the immune system of voat. By restricting them, you are triggering the immune system. That is why no one can get CCP -- your sub looks like a trolling sub to the system. This is why you can't get on v/all -- and if bringing in normies is the goal, how are you going to do that if your posts can never get out of this sub? That was the giant complaint about reddit -- the shadowbanning. The way this sub is set up, it has shadowbanned itself.

I honestly don't think that you can dig yourselves out of this hole. The systemic problem is still there. The board made itself a target from the start, and now, there is so much pent up frustration from the rest of voat, if you turn on downvoats now, you are likely to be downvoated into oblivion and end up on the 1/5 limit per day. (One thread, five comments. That's what happens when you hit -50. Several of your mods are already there, and the ones who are at 0 because they won't post in the rest of voat.) The only way to get around that would be a hell of a PR campaign to voat at large, and I don't see that happening from the people who post things like this.

The mods don't actually give a shit about that. They just want to maintain an iron grip of control over their herd. Pure ego. Nothing more, nothing less.
