BRAVE browser.

Built in TOR so if you ever need to visit a website that you don't want your IP attached to like Reddit or Amazon or Wikipedia, then it works good.

Also has built in Ad Block and blocks trackers. It's also faster than any browser.

Except VPN just gives your browsing information to the VPN company. In a way, it's actually less secure depending on your country's laws based around privacy. Foreign VPN companies can sell your information without your consent.

TOR is fine as long as you aren't using it for anything illegal and just using it to prevent regular websites from learning your real location.

But anyway, you're free to use what you want obviously. To be fair, vivaldi has always been a close second option for me. What I can't stand is people using the Chinese Spyware Opera.

How about neither. Waterfox with all the extensions you need for privacy, ad/spam blocking, and overall flexibility. Couple that with a good VPN subscription and you're good to go. Maybe I'm just oldschool, but I hate modern "lite" browser interfaces and how smartphones impacted that design philosphy.

Linux isn't even an OS bro. At least be semi and pick a distro of some sort.

If you guys want a nice desktop, you can download Oracle Linux 8 Beta and theres no license or anything and is based off the latest RHEL release (already stable and for server/enterprise environments where they need to not have applications crash). Then Oracle goes in with their fuck you money and makes it even better.

There's reviews of people who will put only Oracle Linux on their clients servers regardless if they use an Oracle db. Application crashes are extremely rare and it comes with a preconfigured security profile which is decent and alerts you to any kernal security issues/logging on default.

It also runs on ARM if you want a sweet pi. I got vivaldi and a custom VPN openvpn server running on that and it is great.
