Been using JewJewGo search engine until I found out the owner (((Gabriel Weinberg))) has a sordid history when it comes to privacy, no surprise there. What do you Voats use? I've already switched to Opera and Waterfox. Thanks in advance.

I just tried searx.me and it isn't perfect, but it did give relevant results on the first page, whereas I still found none three pages into startpage.com. YMMV I suppose.

You know back in the day there used to be this fuckin great program called Copernic, it would search multiple search engines (that you could configure). It was bloody brilliant, you could specify types of search ( shopping, research etc). There was something awesome about watching the different search results coming in and then being presented . As with many programs back then it became commercialised and then search engines learnt to block it, god I miss it.

DDG doesn't have scripts embedded in every fucking page on the web, whereas Google does. The worst problems I'm aware of with DDG is that it doesn't get great results, and it may set some cookies.

Yeah. Everything is monitored so I don't understand why anyone believes using another search engine will matter. I have never had a problem searching for anything.

It's a search engine that uses other search engines, but you can allow/disallow certain ones like google, wikipedia, etc. and it doesn't track you.

It even lets you download the source code if you wish.

using searx and start page, the page doesn't reload after closing the browser(waterfox).

eg: after restart the page clears and doesn't show what i searched for before on any tabs.

a privacy thing i imagine, but any way to change that?
