This simple function keeps a verse community together instead of forcing it split, often into a less obvious name, making them harder to find. Is this just bad management, indifference, or what? It's something that could easily be delegated, so why hasn't it been?

Is there a subverse withering on the vine waiting for you?

I requested v/hiking six months ago, but that isn't what made me think of posting this. It was this thread.

You nailed one of the reasons I've decided to take a break from Voat for a spell. No attention is being paid to the basic needs of the community and things that could be easily delegated to other trusted users aren't. Voat has outgrown a 'one man admin' situation, that's obvious. No point in me wasting my time here, if those in charge care only about software upgrades while not maintaining what exists.
And yes, I put in for a sub nine months before I finally deleted the request. What's the point. And a task that anyone of fifty trusted users could have been delegated to perform with no adverse impacts to Voat.

Yeah we definitely have some long-time trusted users who could help admin. And leaving admin logs in the open further increases trust.

It really is disheartening. I'm still here posting and commenting but not nearly as much as I was before. It's clear to me, as a user, there is little point in building your community here. I guess I'm still here because I don't know anyplace better to go.

Yeah, I'm not a Reddit guy and never was either. It just seems like we get stream after stream of new Redditors that run away from there and make this place a little less of what it once was. Taking a break has been a breathe of fresh air though - LOL. I'll eventually be back, I'm sure ... but who knows, Voat has changed a lot I'm afraid and not for the better.
