I post a lot of different current event political type videos because I leave them on while I do work, and have become familiar with a lot of who has access to what. This is a bit odd. It may be that they own the content in a way, and it's their concession for FCC public service, for in turn getting the exclusivity. But they are given money by congress I believe to do this, and picking out this video to not live stream is a bit underhanded.

It's also possible that its going to be a blood bath and they don't want people to see it.

Again to be clear, I didn't go to C-SPAN2, but the normally free senate floor business was placed there, and the link for this on the first page redirected there, exactly to the link I provided. At the time it looked liek they were locking down normal senate business, which was wierd to see.

There is now a link on the front page that took most of the day, until almsot 4:30 EST, relative to start of the Senate's day, that finally says anything about Kavanaugh and it like all of the other times before and last week.

No that was from the first page, which happened to redirect that page with that Item selected, because it was restricted at the time I made the post. I posted the page URL as I found it after clicking the first page link.

Also the issue is that this was restricted, not the semantics of how they decided to restrict it seemingly special for this day. This is not original c-span content like Book Club. Poster is a fgt for not thinking it through trying to confuse the issue.

I've been watching this fiasco since the start and have not had any issues whatsoever. The entire time. CSPAN-1 has always been free, and they've, at least so far, played the Kavanaugh hearings and other junk.

Channel 2 and 3 are paid and have been for quite some time.

No, I've posted many many live events. And for some of the bigger ones have had to retroactively fix links, as they split the live stream into non-live chunks. As late as last week during the other hearings. I've done this throughout all of the post election stuff. I dint start posting here until after the election when I finally made an account. Was watching things throughout the election and before that, even from here others would post.

Turns out the content is public domain, meaning you can even use any of it in anyway you wish as long as you attribute it to c-span. I bet they hearing ratings are high and the cable ratings are low, and someone decided to flip the switch.

It's odd to restrict an exclusive position given in law to a specific set of people.
