Recent interactions with the mods on the pizzagate subverse piqued my interest in the question of who runs voat ? Well , some voaters think it might be Peter Thiel and Palantir. (See : https://voat.co/v/pizzagatewhatever/2102512))

It was a humanitarian project that first introduced Palantir to the U.K. division of Spain’s Santander Bank. In 2015, both companies signed on to a charity-funded initiative to look into connections between illicit financial networks and global human-trafficking rings. The initiative didn’t materialize—British restrictions on information sharing among banks got in the way—but Palantir’s software impressed Santander chief operating officer Juan Maria Olaizola. “You can say that we went from a blind date to marriage in less than six months,” says Olaizola.

Today Santander is using Palantir’s tools to figure out whether their customers are up to anything nefarious. Palantir’s analytics software can harness the bank’s proprietary data and match it against public information to check whether customers have been connected to bad acts, past or present. That “public information” typically includes criminal databases, huge streams of data from social media, and a variety of other sources. (These sources are the stuff that privacy advocates’ nightmares are made of, and Palantir and its clients uniformly decline to talk about them with specificity.) In theory, Santander or any other customer could perform this checking itself, but it would need to find engineers with the right expertise and spend a long time building code—a potentially ineffective and time-consuming process. Thanks to the effort Palantir put into Gotham and Metropolis, it has the talent and data ready to roll.

I've been wondering for a while now if dear old Royal Arch mason Will Draper is related to American VC billionaire Tim Draper http://uk.reuters.com/article/us-tezos-blockchain-draper/exclusive-billionaire-investor-draper-to-participate-in-blockchain-token-sale-for-first-time-idUKKBN181250

I strongly suspect he is.

Then, I've recently found this..apparently Tim is a freemason too and has been to the UK, the regions where there is a string contingent of Drapers (the family goes way, way back)..

A recent fundraising effort – the magical mystery tour in aid of Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research – was organised by Derwent Lodge, No. 884. The event was led by Freemason Tim Draper and his wife Pam, whose grandson Jack was diagnosed with leukaemia at the age of two. The trip took them to Stratford-upon-Avon, South Marston in Wiltshire, Bath and Derby, where they were met by Jack – sitting in his grandfather’s coach – having raised £1,559.

The Lodge was formed by Officers of the First Volunteer Battalion, The Sherwood Foresters. This battalion was raised in 1916 for home defence. The reason for forming the lodge was that some officers wanted to stay in touch with each other after demobilisation in 1919. A number were already Freemasons and thought that a Lodge should be formed. The Commanding Officer Lt Col GA Lewis (a member of Tyrian Lodge No 253) was asked to make enquiries regarding forming a Lodge for members of the armed services. He sent out a circular to freemasons, known to have been in the services, calling a meeting to form a Service Lodge. The meeting took place on 30th April 1919 in Derby Masonic Hall, it was agreed to proceed.

The office of Master was offered to and accepted by Brig HA Chandos-Pole-Gell of Hopton Hall Wirksworth, of the Household Brigade Lodge No.2614 and Derwent Lodge No.884 and the offices of Senior Warden and Junior Warden respectively to Lt Col GA Lewis Tyrian Lodge No. 253 and Lt Col H Newton of the Arboretum Lodge No.731.
