An undercover probe has discovered child labour at farms linked to coffee giant Nespresso. Dispatches filmed children working eight-hour days for less than £5 up to six days a week carrying out heavy manual labour. George Clooney, who famously advertises the coffee brand, has said he is ‘saddened’ by the findings of the Channel 4 documentary, to be screened next week. The actor – who has reportedly earned £31million as the brand’s ambassador – has promised that ‘work will be done’ after footage showed youngsters picking beans and moving heavy loads at coffee plantations in Guatemala.

The Democratic National Convention, running July 13 to 16, is expected to bring 50,000 visitors to Milwaukee, and area venues are booking political events during and around that window.

Minnesota Public Radio and parent company American Public Media severed ties with "A Prairie Home Companion" creator Garrison Keillor during an investigation of "inappropriate behavior."

When news broke about Keillor in November 2017, he told the Minneapolis Star Tribune via email that he put his hand's "on a woman's bare back. … She recoiled. I apologized." In a statement to the Journal Sentinel, Katharine Seggerman, managing editor of his company Prairie Home Productions, said, "No complaint was ever filed in court, and Garrison has maintained that the relationship in question was mutual."

Minnesota Public Radio News published an investigative report detailing "a years-long pattern of behavior that left several women who worked for Keillor feeling mistreated, sexualized or belittled."

Keillor is performing at the Back Room at Colectivo Coffee in Milwaukee Thursday, and the Barrymore Theatre in Madison Friday.

Unable to find a sober LGBTQ party scene in Chicago, they formed their own, Chicago Queer Sober Social, and boldly planned their first event. They would have been happy to have drawn one guest, they said, but in the countdown to last month’s inaugural event at Colectivo Coffee in Logan Square, the buzz built, both on Facebook and in local LGBTQ groups.

Some guests arrived more than an hour early, according to Conybeare, and at the end of the evening, more than 100 people had crowded into the coffeehouse.

I'll give you our 24 Hour Grace flair, so you can add that. I checked our archives, and we've got nothing so far on either Dan Hurdle or Colectivo Coffee.

I took a look at Colectivo Coffee's page and saw that for some reason they sold their original trademark to Mars, Inc. Mars is the Greco-Roman demon of war. They also used a Santa Muerta skull as the icon for their 25th Anniversary. They also have a Comet Ping Pong-style musical venue called The Back Room, though none of the bands looked too questionable to me. Might be interesting to see if campaign events for politicians have been held there, or in any of their Chicago venues.

Drag queen story time is in all 50 states. This is a top-down astro-turf; not a bottom-up grass-roots.
