Childhood's End (1958):

• The book is somewhat ominously called "Childhood's End"
• One-eye symbolism on the cover (twice, just to make sure you get it)
• Aliens that look like a caricature of Satan show up and end all wars, integrate the races, give us birth control, and unify humanity under a global government
• Humanity gets acclimated to the aliens' control before they can see what they really look like
• For no apparent reason, the devil-looking aliens take all the children at the end after giving them magic powers
• The ending was so weird that Clarke included a non-apology for it in future editions
• It recently got turned into TV miniseries which is what the images in the infograph are from
