This is a tough one to swallow.
In the movie for which he is most famous he had friends of one of his children come to the set with the child. All of the friends were probably no older than 7 or 8. He molested a dozen of them at least during the filming of the movie and filmed many of them. When he died there were hundreds of hours of footage which was some of the most extreme versions of child porn anywhere.
Sadly, it shouldn't be too surprising, now viewing his career through a #pg lens. (From the comments:)
But he leaves hints throughout his work, like that weird issue of Playgirl magazine showing up in "The Shining." And of course how he changed a key plot point in "Lolita" to show a vast network of pedophiles, not a lone predator.

Jay Weidner made 2 documentary films on Kubrick and he was hinting that his next film would be about pedophilia being exposed in Eyes Wide Shut but this film never materialized. You have to wonder if Weidner stumbled upon something that put Kubrick in a bad light or maybe he was warned off.
