God Bless Breitbart

Yup, @Oh_Well_ian, I think of Andrew Breitbart a lot. He was so far ahead of his time. I really wish he were here among us, still, and his loss makes me treasure all who are on the front lines, putting themselves at great risk to expose this awful stuff. . . .

He was the son-in-law of Orson Bean, the actor.

@carmencita, Oh yeah, Carm, good memory. Here's Orson Bean's Wiki page: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Orson_Bean. We used to watch Orson Bean on Match Game (hosted by Gene Rayburn, who was kind of creepy in a sexual way, now that I think back on him) in the early 70s. Yep, I'm old. Gene was creepy and smarmy, but Orson Beam was affable, witty, and kind. He's still alive. Breitbart married Bean's daughter from Wife #2 of 3. Seems like a decent chap. Still, hmmmm, I think I'll look into Rayburn because, well, Hollywood.

carmencita ago

Yeah, Bean was in some sitcom moons ago, and I think Gene Rayburn can be seen on rerun game shows. We don't have cable, so we get all kinds of strange oldie shows. Yeah, Rayburn was a little odd, come to think of it.

So I did a quick search online about Rayburn and, from the scant materials I've read, he seems to have been a pretty good guy, after all. But what do I know? I do tend to give people the benefit of the doubt, and from what I've read about him, so far, he was a loyal family man (same wife for 56 years, I think, and he died at his only daughter's home out east). I vividly remember when Match Game premiered in 1973. First it was just called "Match Game," if I remember correctly, and then each year they added the years ('74, '75, '76, etc.). The humor seems smarmy but -- don't forget, young ones -- this was the early 70s when almost every major city had an active, vibrant PLAYBOY CLUB in its downtown area, a lot like you'd find a TGIF Friday's in a metropolitan area these days. So the humor was different then, we definitely weren't politically correct, and all of Madison Avenue was living by the "SEX SELLS" credo. So maybe, just maybe, Gene Rayburn was not a creepy abuser behind the scenes. For now, there's no evidence, and that makes me feel good for a change in here.

How cool, @carmencita, that you guys watch the old shows. In looking up Match Game stuff I stumbled across two videos on YouTube called "Paul Lynde Zingers" (1 and 2). You can find them here: (1) = https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OhPssZbKhM0 and (2) = https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VtrbY3e0kU8. Now THAT GUY was very, very funny. He cracked us up so much! He was flamboyant and gay, but back in the day (on The Hollywood Squares) the subject was never broached. He just seemed like a good hearted guy and he made my entire family laugh our heads off, so I have a lot of good memories. These vids are long but I bet you'll enjoy them. In the back of my head I'm thinking, "Oh crap, I wonder if Paul Lynde was into this like Jethro Clampett, Buffalo Bob, and all the others we've learned about." But for the near future I'll just focus on the jokes and laughs, and look into him, too, at a later time.

Sadly, there aren't too many in Hollywood who weren't a part of the underbelly. I suppose it'll all come out soon enough. I'd rather just watch the old shows, for now, for the fond memories they evoke, and focus on the creepy pedos running Hollywood and our government TODAY so that, I pray, somehow the cruelty will end.

Okay, I've said enough for now. Sorry to chat so much. Everyone's out doing their Halloween thing and I've had a nip or two so I am chatty. . . .

carmencita ago

Oh, thank you for bringing back those memories of Paul Lynde I shall be watching those Zingers. Funny you should bring him up for with all the Halloween specials and all, on one of the oldie stations they featured a blurb about The Paul Lynde Halloween Show. I must look this up for it was a scream really. The guests were hilarious. Donny & Marie, Betty White, and so many more. So here you go: A Little Halloween Present from Me to You. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4psTeRpQ-1o

We, thank you, @Carmencita. I'm bookmarking this, for sure. The reason I love the old Hollywood Squares us that we were had to walk to school a half mile-plus, walk home for lunch, walk back to school for the afternoon, and then walk home. So every afternoon we'd have lunch at home, and our mothers all played The Hollywood Squares on TV while all the kids ate at home. This was the 60s. We had the coolest group of neighborhood kids because we watched that. Not to brag, but my late mother was a whiz. She not only got about every answer correct but she came up with the funniest gag answers, like the stars had to do, and she did it on the fly, without the benefit of a staff of joke writers. I idolized her for her wit. I miss her a lot and these films will make me smile, I'm sure, when I gather my family together and watch.

What a nice break from Hollywood Pedophilia this thread has turned out to be.

Thank you, kiddo. Thanks so much.

You sound like the kind of child who would make their mother proud. It's sweet how you speak of her

SecondAmendment ago

Aw, thanks very much, @Shizy. You are too kind. I think the world of both of my parents and I miss them tremendously. Every day. They both are gone and they were my best friends, advisors, cheerleaders, and sounding boards. Every day I miss them, especially because I think they'd have really helpful insight into the madness that we, here, are witnessing and discussing. I'm glad y'all are here to pick up some of the slack. They would be fascinated but also repulsed. Years ago. when we learned about the Catholic priest pedo scandal up in the northeast it almost killed my parents. Truly, it destroyed their foundation.

For that reason only, I understand why the truth related to Pizzagate can't be revealed all at once, if at all. It's going to be very painful to get the masses red pilled, especially our senior citizens .... I think you would've liked my parent, too, @Shizy. They both had good senses of humor and they were very clever and resourceful. They both were extremely compassionate, thoughtful, and extremely generous with their time. They taught me that material things don't mean jack squat but, rather, it's our relationships with humans, animals, nature, and -- yes -- God that matter most.

My parents were pretty funny and those Hollywood Squares lunches will stay with me til I'm old.

To underscore how funny my mom was.... When I was about 7 I attended a summer program. I biked to it every y. They held a contest in the first week of July to see who could decorate his or her bike the best. My mother helped me. We spent all night in the night before contest. Since it was early July my mother went with a "Fourth of July" theme. She used red, white, and blue ribbons, tape, glutrwr, etc.

Then, on the morning of the contest, my mother stopped me from leaving the house to head to the summer program. She said, "Not so fast, I I have one more trick up my sleeve. It's going to be your secret weapon for this contest. We went into the garage and she pulled out a package of tinsel. Yes, tinsel. She placed tinsel on parts of my bike where it's affect was most pronounced. I rode the bike down to that program with tinsel flying in the Wind. To my great surprise, I won first place. I think the prize was just a couple of inexpensive toys. But it meant the world to me. Who thinks of tinsel, especially during July 4th week? My mother. My clever cunning caring mother, that's wj9.

Thanks again for the fun memories. Back to work we go. God bless you all.

Your Welcome. I am so tired from running to the door for the Trick or Treat Kiddies. But I rally do love them. Now I know why you all love to laugh and have fun. Your Mother instilled that in you. What a Wonderful Gift.
