I've been completely off the "investigation" for the last 6 months maybe, but this recent Kevin Spacey news got my mind jogged about an old post here. The OP has apparently deleted his account but it's still archived ([https://voat.co/v/pizzagate/1554022]). My personal contacts tell me that Santa Maria Airport (Azores, Portugal) is a very odd choice for stopping by. This is because there is a bigger commercial airport in the biggest island of the archipelago - S.Miguel -, and a large American military base in Terceira (which I'm supposing a former President could use. I remember, at the time seeing that there are reports of the CIA using the airport as a more secretive support to Terceira's airfield. There accounts of Guantanamo-bound prisoners (and other war intel connects) stopping there for refill and to exchange planes. Please do get into this as I have no time.
