Last week my son was in Washington D.C. in connection with his work to contacting members of congress. He took his wife and three young children on the trip so in the evenings they could go as a family to sight see in the nation's capital. Having a mother like me, who mostly lurks on sites like this about pizzagate and pedogate I've chosen to constantly warn my children of the nefarious happenings surrounding this subject. All this at the cost that my children, although respectful, see me, I think as a bit of a conspiracy theorist. While trying to inform them to never let their little ones out of their sights while out and about and especially at national parks and also the MO of pedophiles who distract parents to snatch children. When my son called me on their way home to Philadelphia from the trip in Washington D.C., he started sharing highlights of their trip. He got to the part where they were at some tunnel near the nation's capital building where the members of congress go in and out. A group of them was going back in to vote on some legislation when Nancy Pelosi passed them and stopped to comment of what beautiful little children my son and his wife had and jokingly said that she "would pay $10 dollars a piece for them." When he told me this, I freaked out over her gall over her saying such a thing. I couldn't believe her gall especially when her name has been linked with pedophilia. He told me he thought I would have that kind of visceral reaction. I told him that supposedly someone had latched onto Madeline McCann and she ended up missing. Does anyone have any metadata I can put in front of my son so that he can see this stuff is for real and its not to be taken lightly? Although I believe they know there are people out there like that and are careful parents I still fear a pedophile targeting one of their beautiful children and eventually goes after one of them. Could you share how you have shared this type of information with your familes to make sure it's not casually dismissed or taken so lightly? We need to learn how to have a more meaningful dialogue about this subject with those that we love that is effective and more believable. Would love to know your thoughts. Thanks in advance.
