Thanks for bringing up this thought. I noticed that the Trump admin was for it and that seemed curious to me. Now knowing Pelosi is against it that makes me more curious. On the outside it sounds bad but maybe it's good in a way we can't see yet.

I think it's all fake, like pro wrestling. The GOP does the dirty work and will take the political hits while giving the corporations what they want, and Dems will get political credit for seeming to oppose it.

Hmm I could easily see that. Sadly.

There's nothing curious about this one. The Democrats are on the right side of this issue and the Republicans are not. They are listening to the contributions of broadband companies who would make a ton of money selling this info and targeting ads to you. The guy who know heads the FCC was put in that position by Trump and first recommended to the board by Mitch McConnell. The FCC has five commissioners. 3 from one major party and two from the other. Right now two seats are vacant and it's 2-1 in favor of Republicans.

I have one question. They are not selling individual info, right? It wouldn't be Bob likes to post on Voat and he watches Big Bang Theory and drives a Mazda. It would X from St Louis posts on Voat...... ......Mazda. Anyone know?

"The Democrats are on the right side of this issue and the Republicans are not."

That's what I thought at first too. But there's one thing that changed my mind. If Trump and Sessions have the browsing history of some of these perps it may lead to more evidence of corruption.

Also it could be the browsing history won't be admissible in court until we officially make it legal again to access someone's browsing history.

This is what I'm wondering! The case has to be air tight, not sure how else to get records when the aholes are in charge of all the data.

My gut reaction was/is to be appalled by it. Until I remember that Internet privacy is already nonexistent - except the government/tptb has a monopoly on the information. They police themselves, by being the only ones allowed access to the information. And we see how that has gone. How are we supposed to take down the Power if we don't allow equal access to other entities? This might very well be a step to a true FOIA!

On that note, you may be absolutely correct... and it may be a legit way to snag those from top down to make a case that would stick. Right now we know NSA has all that but gov. can't use it to bring any charges. Right?
